Laughable.
According to some Japanese expert on the bowing incident the bow made United States look weak according to Mr. Tapper of ABCnews.
“Obama’s handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bush’s back-rub of Merkel. Here's a YouTube video of the 47 different greetings of heads of state upon meeting Emperor Akihito and comparing it each time to Obama's deep, deep scraping bow to the Emperor. Here's a deep, thought provoking question. How come the Emperor didn't return a bow to Obama's bow as it is customary to do so? Just like returning a handsake, Emperor Akihito didn't return Obama's bow. How come the left hasn't condemn Emperor Akihito for not doing that?
“Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs.
“The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms….The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part.
