JOE SCARBOROUGH: Tina, what has happened to this president, the president from hope and change? What has happened?

TINA BROWN: Well it's so interesting. I think that Obama doesn't like his job, actually. I think that he is genuinely of a professorial disposition in the sense that I think that he's interested in chewing over the pros and cons, and he doesn't like, he doesn't like power and he doesn't know how to exercise power. And I think knowing how to exercise power is absolutely crucial. He doesn't understand how to underpin his ideas with the political gritty, granular business of getting it done. And that kind of gap has just widened and widened and widened. And so that every time there is a moment, a window where he can jump in, like something like a Simpson-Bowles as well, he just doesn't do it. He hangs back at crucial moments when you have to dive through that window.

SCARBOROUGH: And regardless of your ideology, it is very safe to say, I think most people would agree: LBJ he is not, Bill Clinton, he is not, when it just comes to understanding how to make Washington work.

MIKE BARNICLE: It appears off of what Tina just said, you just said, it appears that you could make a case that Barack Obama doesn't like politics.

BROWN: Right. I absolutely feel that.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Well who would today? I mean, I think it's great that --

SCARBOROUGH: Oh come on. If you don't like medicine, don't be a doctor. If you don't like politics, don't put yourself out there to run the free world, Mika.

BRZEZINSKI: You know what? Politics today need to be changed.

SCARBOROUGH: Stop the apologizing!

BRZEZINSKI: I'm not apologizing.

SCARBOROUGH: You're apologizing. [Sarcastically imitates Mika's voice] Who would like politics today? You know what?

BRZEZINSKI: Who would?

SCARBOROUGH: He is running the free world. He better know a lot of people love politics. Bill Clinton loves politics. FDR loved politics. Ronald Reagan loved politics. Great leaders love what they do. So who would love politics?

BROWN: Isn't it really also about, well the other word for politics is just doing what it takes to get it done. Like, one of the things that's interesting about Obama is that he kind of, and I think he does believe in this, that his idea of being a transformative figure who can cross many persuasions and orientations and aisles. And yet when it is actually taken to reaching out and really bringing that in, and trying, I don't think that it really --

SCARBOROUGH: He doesn't do that.

JON MEACHAM: The analogy to 1979 is something we should explore a little bit more, for all the obvious reasons: a technocratic president who thinks he's really smart and perhaps above it all. And a slightly unsettled Republican field. Sounds somewhat familiar.

SCARBOROUGH: It does sound familiar.

Hmmm...that does sound familiar when Carter in 1979 tried to run for a 2nd term and failed if you're familiar with the history. As for Obama not liking politics and getting work done, no wonder he went on his 88th golf outing so far and his 30th for this year.

Dr. Alveda King speaks about Herman Cain

Interesting article written by Dr. Alveda King who is a civil rights and pro-life activist and is the niece of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Herman Cain is the epitome of the American dream. He grew up poor and worked his way to success, following an ethic he inherited from his father and mother, and with a degree he earned at an historically black school, Morehouse College, where my uncle, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., also was an alumnus.

Mr. Cain is the fulfillment of Uncle M. L.’s dream. He has lived the black American experience in the South. By the content of his character, not the color of his skin, he has studied hard, worked hard, enjoyed success in business and now aspires to the office of president of the United States. Like Martin Luther King, he is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus. He is not a career politician but out of love for his country, he seeks now to lead.

If we have an honest discussion on whether the war on poverty should be fought with welfare or with economic growth in the private sector, Democrats will lose black votes.

When Mr. Cain says abortion is bad business, is hurting America and denying our youngest the civil right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, that is a dangerous discussion for the Democrats and their pro-abortion platform.

When he says the abortion industry, particularly Planned Parenthood, is committing Black genocide, he is giving a national platform to an issue that the mainstream media was quick to label racist and then sweep back under the carpet.

This controversy is nothing more than a political ploy by the establishment to attempt a high-tech lynching, a brazen – if transparent – effort to eliminate this man who actually dares to present solutions for America’s problems.

Eerie similarities. Even both attended Moorehouse College and you can see Cain's bio on their website where Herman Cain is on the Board of Trustees. Lots of achievements and he has certainly been busy.

And this establishment, which includes the Obama camp, is terrified of what Mr. Cain represents, so says Dr. Alveda King.

He was certainly no "flavor of the month" candidate. Maybe it might be fair to say at this point that if you hate Cain then you hate Martin Luther King, Jr? Maybe even racist? Well, that was pretty much the meme over the last three years that if you disagreed with Obama's policy that means you're racist. Silly, I agree. At least Herman Cain told the truth but Bialek lied according to a lie detector result.

Missing Cain picture on CNBC website

Tonight is debate night and I'm following a live blogging of that debate. What I noticed interestingly enough is that on CNBC's website it shows all of the candidates' pictures except for two that are conspicuously absent. Care to guess? I took the care on refreshing the page several times throughout the debate on a separate browser page just to see if pictures would change. Nada. Interesting that Cain is near or at the top in the national polls as a leading contender to be the choice Republican presidential nominee but curiously enough CNBC made sure Herman Cain's picture doesn't get the front page along with other candidates. Maybe CNBC will mumble about having not enough room on their website to handle all 8 candidates or something? Maybe all this is really nothing? Then again....

BTW, the debate went very well and you can get an idea here by reading the postings when it was live blogged. I think Cain was the winner here with his responses that were short and to the point plus the crowd seemed to like and support him.

The Cain and Gingrich Debate - Lincoln Douglas Style

Here's a great debate on C-SPAN (captioned) between Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich but the problem is that it was not a debate but more of a policy discussion between the two which essentially mirrored each other. No "gotcha" questions and such but honest, straight-forward talk to the American people. Both were able to praise each other and at the end Mr. Cain asked an important question about what would Gingrich want to do first as vice president that drew laughter from everybody.

This debate format takes after the Lincoln-Douglas debate style:

The Lincoln-Douglas debates were a series of three-hour debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas during the 1858 Illinois Senate race. In the format, one candidate would start with a 60 minute statement, and his opponent would get 90 minutes to respond. The first speaker then got a 30 minute rebuttal. The two candidates took turns speaking first.

Only that this one lasted 1 1/2 hour. Be sure to watch their very informative style of discussion between the two. Easy to follow and understand and they both make a lot of sense. And they both come from Georgia! Gollee!

90% unemployment rate for deaf and hard of hearing Americans?

Someone commented in Huffington Post saying that about 90% of deaf and hard of hearing Americans are unemployed.

CAELadyJane50: About 90% of deaf and hard of hearing Americans are unemployed. How can he say it is their fault for not having a job or owning a business? The jobs that deaf and hard of hearing people were able to do got sent overseas or replaced by computerized machines. Yet they are not disabled enough to get Disability Social Security. In my opinion, Cain does NOT know what he is talking about; he is way too inexperienced.

Rather a dreary made up statistics that anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that's not true when you have 36 million people with hearing loss in the United States. Roughly 1 out of 8 is a person with a hearing loss whether it's mild or profound hearing loss.

Current number on unemployed people in the United States numbers around approximately 14 million people as of for the month of October 2011. There are approximately 190 million people between the age of 18 and 65 years old or 63 percent of the population in the United States that are of working age.

So, by stating that 90% of deaf and hard of hearing Americans are unemployed means that 29 million deaf and hard of hearing Americans are out of work. Apply the 63% rate to the 29 million people to get the adults group between 18 and 65 years old of working age it then comes out with a number at 18 million people. Pretty dang big except that number is much bigger than the current 14 million people that are in fact unemployed.

Granted that the working population of people with disabilities tend to be around perhaps 40% higher than the unemployment rate of 9.1% but certainly not anywhere near the 90% unemployment rate claim. I'm pretty darned sure that CAELadyJane50 doesn't know what she's talking about.

OWS deaf guy gets raped at Zuccotti Park

People at Zuccotti Park continue to get raped, groped and sexually assaulted during their stay as OWS protestors based on a video testimony from one woman. Transcript is posted below courtesy of DCR. Who else? (Subtitle added to video is planned for later). Meanwhile, a 14 year old girl was raped at the Occupy Dallas camp with reports of at least two rapes so far. A 19-year-old student activist was allegedly raped at Occupy Cleveland. A man was arrested on charges of indecent exposure to children at Occupy Seattle. A female reporter was threatened by activists at Occupy Oakland. Sad.

TRANSCRIPT:

Woman: ..affairs working group. We're trying to..figure out what to do about. I mean, I understand drug addiction, I've had a problem myself but at the same time it's putting all these people in danger, that, um, sexual assault going on. We're trying to deal with that. I've seen it. Um, mostly, drunk guys doing groping girls. There was a guy that got raped,too, here. Um, a deaf, deaf, uh, younger man. Um...

Q (0:29): When you say drunk guys groping girls, so would you say that right now that the current system they have is unsafe for women?

Woman (035): Yes. There is actually, that's really a problem for the past, like, 3 weeks, or 4 weeks. There's actually a, um, section of the park that's set aside for, well it's "gender neutral" but they have people watching while people are asleep making sure they're safe. So...

Q (0:53): To get this clear, people have to watch because there's been groping incidents, and, uh, you said a deaf guy was raped?

Woman (1:01): Yeah…

Q (1:03): How long have you been here?

Woman (1:05):I've been here pretty much since the first day. I came on the first day. I wasn't here for a week and a half, I got sick I was in a hospital. But I've been here pretty much...

Q (1:16): Did the guy, I mean, do these, did that get reported to the police, or did that stay inside the camp?

Woman (1:22): Well, OK, I’m not sure for that particular incident. Yeah, no I, that might have stayed inside the camp. The problem that we have been dealing with like, I said, community affairs, we've tried, and some people have tried, actually, a girl got punched in the face by a guy. She tried going to the cops. She had to go to four cops before one of them would help her out. And that's also a problem. People have been trying to tell the cops, you know, "we don't want these people here causing problems, can you take this guy." And they kind of just ignored it.

Q (1:53) But does that working group, that, that organizing body, do they encourage or discourage people to go to the police or stay?

Woman (2:00):They encouraged it but, you know, at the same time it hasn't proved, you know, beneficial most of the time. There have, there was a guy that got arrested for assault. He was, like, he hit a lady–or, he almost hit a pregnant lady, and then he hit a guy, he had, like, some kind of, like, baton–and he got arrested, but he came back here afterwards. So,

Q (2:24): Different (inaudible)

Woman (2:26): Just different people. They're not all homeless, I mean.

Q (2:30): My question is how many sexual assaults do you think that have been here or violent attacks?

Woman (2:35): Violent attacks? Um, I'm not sure. I guess, I've heard probably like 10, at least 10 incidents of at least groping kind of stuff.

Q (2:44): Ten incidents of groping and one rape?

Woman (2:47): Um, I mean, that was one that I know of. I saw a girl crying and she said that guys were trying to, like, take advantage of her while she was asleep. So, I'm not sure though what happened exactly.

Q (3:00): With what you just said, if you were a parent and your young daughter wanted to come here would you discourage her or encourage her?

Woman (3:06): Um, to a certain extent I would discourage her but I've stayed here, I've been safe. There are people here will help you. No one bothered me and I sleep in the back part of the park like the bottom is known as the "ghetto." Because that's where..if you notice there are police usually up, like, here but they're really none down there most of the time. So, it feels like they're (inaudible) down there, so, they like they can come and mass arrest us. But, um, I mean, I would say just to make sure they are informed and they come here and ask. Any girl can go to the info desk or something and say, "Hey, where can I sleep? Where can I be safe here?" And they tell them that there's a women's group, that's like, versus, women,
and there's also gender neutral sleeping areas.

Q (3:50): (inaudible)

Woman (3:52): Yeah, we have security and stuff like that. That's who we are. That's what we had to come to though, because, uh, police have been pretty, haven't helped us very much. And that is working, uh, to a certain extent, thrown people out of here, and, and they, um, security team does have photos of people that have sexually assaulted and have caused problems. And they go around and if those people are getting blankets or something like that, they say, "Don't give this guy blanket, he sexually assaulted a girl the other day." So, it's kind of like that kind of thing going on. That's pretty much, we've, or take them outside of the park. Stuff like that en mass.

Not exactly paradise when you have all kinds of people, including drug addicts, crashers, homeless people, thugs who attack people and make death threats, rapists, thieves and such looking for an opportunity to take advantage of such a situation as well as unsafe (note Mayor Bloomberg's disingenuous and hypocritical response) and unsanitary conditions. And the problem is getting, what else, worse.

There have been multiple incidents of assault, drug dealing and drug use, rape and attempted rape, according to conversations with numerous protesters. And the problem, they say, is getting worse.

In the past several weeks, the cluster of tents at the west end of the park -- the farthest section from the bustle of working groups and activity near Broadway -- has grown increasingly dangerous, many say. The sanitation team has reported finding needles in tents, and reports of crack and crystal meth use have surfaced. But the most serious concern most protesters say, is the risk of assault, especially for women and at night.

Before ya'll get huffy about police not helping out:

The police, meanwhile, vigorously deny that they have been encouraging anyone to go to Zuccotti. They did email a list of a number of arrests they have made since October 11, which included the arrest of a man for sexual abuse of a woman inside a sleeping bag.

"He's occupying Rikers now," wrote Paul J. Browne, Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Police Department.

Also,perhaps get hip with this Hipster Cop, Detective Lee, in his usual plain clothes attire if you have questions.

Detective Lee has played a serious role at Zuccotti Park since protesters started camping there a month ago. He has been one of the department’s main liaisons with the protesters. He conveys departmental and community concerns and tries to get information about the protesters’ plans.

Cool. Still, it's time to shut down OWS since it's essentially a growing health and safety hazard, and winter is just around the corner. And, to boot, there is no such thing as the 99%. Just a feel-good myth. And I predict Mayor Bloomberg will find themselves in hot water with tons of lawsuits aimed at the city's coffer. Even protesters are not above the law.

When OWS = the 1%

Be sure to read my recent blog on how the OWS = 99% claim is a big myth before reading this one here. One need to take income disparity into a proper perspective. The top 1% earns at least $380,000 per year in the United States but put that comparison into a global perspective when the top 1% for the world is $34,000 (my emphasis in bold).

Those numbers are so shocking that you might only think about them in the abstract. But when you consider them in the context of the entire globe, including yourself, the skewing effects they have on the distribution of income is simply massive. It means that Americans we consider poor are among some of the world's most well-off. As Milanovic notes, "the poorest [5%] of Americans are better off than more than two-thirds of the world population." Furthermore, "only about 3 percent of the Indian population have incomes higher than the bottom (the very poorest) U.S. percentile."

In short, most of those protesting in the Occupy Wall Street movement would be considered wealthy -- perhaps extraordinarily wealthy -- by much of the world. Many of those protesting the 1% are, ironically, the 1%.

The article continues,

"Today, of Americans officially designated as 'poor,' 99 percent have electricity, running water, flush toilets, and a refrigerator; 95 percent have a television, 88 percent a telephone, 71 percent a car and 70 percent air conditioning. Cornelius Vanderbilt had none of these." Nor does much of the world.
Food for thought.

And I'm sure much of the world do not own smart phones, lap top computers or cameras, either.

Welcome OWS protesters, you're now officially among the 1%! Can we now go to Starbucks?

OWS = 99%?

Occupy Wall Street movement's supposed meme is that this movement,

involves most Americans----the 99%, the left, the right, the libertarians, the anarchists, the socialists, and those who have seen the income inequality get even greater in our lifetimes along with the corrupt influence of money in our politics. It would be a great mistake to try to make #OccupyWallStreet into an overly partisan/electoral focus.

While you're soaking that in let's take a look at a poll involving 301 respondents (OWS protesters) that was taken from Oct 14 - 18, 2011. And you'll see that 80% of them consider themselves to be on the liberal side of things while some 6% consider themselves to be on the conservative side of things.

That's a far cry from calling this movement as a non-partisan movement when it's quite strongly on the liberal side. In fact, it's the ultra liberals that have co-opted the movement. If that's not bad enough then consider how they feel about Obama in 2012:

A loss of nearly half of the support on voting for Obama in the upcoming 2012 election compared to 2008 from the same group of people polled. Grim news for liberal diehards when most of them identify themselves with the Democratic Party, Socialist Party or Green Party.

Using the 99% claim they would also have to say that the 99% also include Tea Party supporters, too. But, alas, the poll isn't quite supportive of that notion.

The 99% is purely a myth of mythical proportion.

As for the Tea Party their impetus has been the concerns on high government spending, huge deficits, and high taxes, especially on small sized businesses that make up 99% of all employer firms and employ half of all private sector employees which pay 44 percent of the total U.S. private payroll. If anything, the Tea Party represents (and supports) the small businesses by going against raising taxes on businesses. But in the OWS protesters' infinite wisdom they do not realize the gravity of taxing businesses when it comes to job creation. It's businesses that create jobs, not the government. OWS = 99%? Try a much, much lower number.

Occupy Phoenix protesters now suggest shooting cops

Had this been done in support of the Tea Party the news media would've been all over it like white on rice but, alas, they choose to ignore it. The Arizona Department of Public Safety found fliers at Occupy Phoenix instructing people on when to shoot police officers. Because of that a counterterrorism alert was issued to all law enforcement agencies in the state of Arizona:

Copies of an “informational” letter were left on a table for protestors pick up [sic] and read during the “Occupy Phoenix” event at Cesar Chavez Park. The presence of the letter was reported to the ACTIC by a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Depute who had responded to an unrelated call and was alerted to it by another deputy working the event.

The letter is blatantly anti-government and anti-law enforcement in nature. It not only condones but even encourages citizens to kill any “government agent” (i.e. law enforcement officers), who in their perception violates their rights. Examples are given in the document, of “illegal” search and seizure, sobriety and border checkpoints, airport security, etc… In essence this document states that citizens have the right and moral obligation to resist any action by law enforcement that is viewed as a violation of the citizen’s rights, and often-times resistance involves killing officers.

“Occupy” events have drawn protestors for various causes including “Chalk the Police” and “Police Brutality Day”. With emotions running high in regards to law enforcement and government personnel, there is obvious concern this document could incite actions with protestors to take actions they might not have taken otherwise.

Granted that some cops do cross the line but that does not justify on favoring an action requiring the shooting of cops. There are options such as taking them to court and such. There are ways to change the laws to minimize abuses. People can pursue individual legal actions whenever the abuses come from a single police officer. Meanwhile it'd be best to obey the cops' request. This flier is a bit long but in two paragraphs it capture the essence of the flier's disturbing requirement.

Pick any example of abuse of power, whether it is the fascist “war on drugs,” the police thuggery that has become so common, the random stops and searches now routinely carried out in the name of “security” (e.g., at airports, “border checkpoints” that aren’t even at the border, “sobriety checkpoints,” and so on), or anything else. Now ask yourself the uncomfortable question: If it is wrong for cops to do these things, doesn’t that imply that the people have a right to RESIST such actions? Of course, state mercenaries don’t take kindly to being resisted, even non-violently. If you question their right to detain you, interrogate you, search you, invade your home, and so on, you are very likely to be tasered, physically assaulted, kidnapped, put in a cage, or shot. If a cop decides to treat you like livestock, whether he does it “legally” or not, you will usually have only two options: submit, or kill the cop. You can’t resist a cop “just a little” and get away with it. He will always call in more of his fellow gang members, until you are subdued or dead.

Basic logic dictates that you either have an obligation to LET “law enforcers” have their way with you, or you have the right to STOP them from doing so, which will almost always require killing them. (Politely asking fascists not to be fascists has a very poor track record.)

Note the bold, so is having a missive calling for the shooting of cops has very poor outcome and result. Consider the consequences of such action. Consider the utter idiocy of suggesting such an action. And why is the mainstream news media quiet on this?

Protests, riots and breaking the law

Here's an odd revelation. The peaceful Tea Party managed to protest without breaking the law and without occupying a city for weeks on end, and faking injuries. And lo and behold! They also got a bunch of their agenda taken up in Washington D.C. But meanwhile, the OWS and the Oakland riot, well, see and read for yourself.

Cain is no candy cane but we have a sucker in the White House

I had to steal this write up in a blog comment done by "cfbleachers" with some very minor modifications. So, apologies to "cfbleachers," consider this exercise as a show of agreement on what he/she commented:

I really like Herman Cain. In fact, in many ways I believe that Herman Cain is precisely what Barack Obama pretended to be and what the independents and moderates voted for in the last election.

He IS a post-racial candidate. He IS a healer. He IS someone who does not see red states and blue states. He IS someone who put childish things behind him and plowed forward to make something of himself.

He IS smart, successful, …people actually remember him going to class at his college and his social security card is issued in a state where he has actually once resided.

His instinct his entire life was to bridge any divide between “black America” and “white America”…between Main Street and Wall Street, between Christian and Jew, between problem and solution.

These…are the very things that Obama said he was…and the propaganda machine refuse to vet. We found out the hard way, the un-vetted candidate was nearly the polar opposite. He is a race warrior, class warrior, ethnic warrior, religious warrior… and sometimes agitator.

He is a Jeremiah Wright inspired, Bill Ayers mentored, George Soros backed, Cooper Union heralded, Rashid Khalidi counseled, Midwest Academy prepped…radical-in-chief.

Herman Cain is the putative “do over” vote…getting the guy that Obama pretended to be…this time with transcripts, passports, social security cards and birth certificate in order.

Obama worked as a minor leaguer in Illinois Senate voting present and barely registering as a freshman US Senator. NO background in foreign affairs, NO grasp of math, business or economics, NO real law practice background to speak of. He had LESS resume’ than Cain on every aspect of the Presidency. The distortion media has simultaneously glossed over and inflated every element of a really thin gruel of “accomplishments”.

Obama is not short on “awards”, “prizes”, “gifts”, …he has been handed much. He has earned little.

Obama doesn’t do…doing. Obama does talking. When you get right down to it…Obama is not a doer of pretty much anything. He is the guy who gets handed a lofty title and he pontificates, evangelizes, BS’s, about it, takes credit for any success and builds a blame machine for every failure. He takes no responsibility…in both uses of the word…ever. He shirks responsibility and shifts responsibility and fakes responsibility.

Obama never “owns” a problem…only credit. Greek columns and halos and land, titles, fetes and kudos he collects like so many Cracker Jack trinkets.

This is a guy who is in Who’s Who and ought to be in Who’s He?

Cain is actually the guy the independents and moderates thought they were voting for the last time.

The difference is…the BIG difference, is the propaganda machine will pull every dirty trick to cover for Obama, promote Obama, fail to vet Obama, fail to investigate Obama’s scandals…and they will rake Herman Cain over the coals.

I do not believe Herman Cain is the perfect candidate. But I do believe he is the guy people actually wanted last time. He IS the one they were waiting for. Build the right team around him…sharpen the message…and he wins. I’m starting to believe that.

Herman Cain, a virtual unknown in the beginning stages of Republican candidates running for 2012 president has increasingly been on the radar over the last few months gaining traction along the way. His latest poll from 1000 likely voters (an important bell weather) shows him to have a favorable lead over Obama if an election was held today. As with any polls, a caveat need to be repeated here and often because things can change for the better or worse, and that polls are not always reliable, however. Herman Cain is beginning to outlive the notion that he's just a "flash in the pan" candidate or "flavor of the month" candidate but the problem is that Cain's approach has been the simple common sense message that many people can relate. And thus his continued momentum on grabbing and holding people's attention.

The number one problem is the economy and Cain has long list of credentials with years of executive experience and successes on dealing in the private sector, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Obama never had any executive experience prior to being elected as President and his actions make it all too painfully clear when private sector businesses have been taking a hit after hit because of Obama's economic policies. As President Clinton used to say, "It's the economy, stupid!" It is and that's what people are looking at being that the economy is their number one concern today. With unemployment rate at 9.1% and much higher for minorities and teens, Herman Cain could be the man to help turn this economy around. With a bad economy our national defense suffers, our education suffers, our social security and Medicare suffers, our energy independence suffers and so on and so forth. It all starts with the economy.

More than 900 days since the Senate passed a budget

Many people don't realize this but it has been more than 900 days since the Senate passed any budget. The Senate majority is the Democrats and has been since 2007 which means they control anything that gets passed by the House of Representative before going to the president's desk. Any legislation that gets passed by the House of Representative goes to the Senate for a vote, and the if passed the legislation goes to the president's desk for a signature approval or not (veto). The House of Representative must by law introduce a budget and vote on it before going to the Senate. The Senate with the Democrat majority has ignored their constitutional duty to pass a budget for over 900 days. This is the second consecutive year Senate Democrats have disregarded the legally mandated budget process. The 1000th day will land on January 24, 2012.

Nazi Party supports OWS?

Strange if not pretty downright scary and it's not even Halloween yet. Not only the Nazi Party made an official endorsement in support of the OWS but the Communist Party as well and, of course, President Obama by way of his assertion that Martin Luther King, Jr (by which President Reagan made MLK's birthday a national holiday) would have supported the Occupy Wall Street protest. Except, of course, the problem is that

Dr. King believed in a fixed moral law, an anathema to moral relativists espousing subjective values. For King, a just law was “a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God.” Dr. King required that his followers lead moral lives, and he emphasized the importance of faith in the face of adversity.

Nothing moral about those parties. In the official endorsement of the Nazi Party it says:

The American Nazi Party is the most politically sophisticated U.S. remnant — but by no means the only one — of white supremacist Adolph Hitler’s murderous 20th century movement. The party calls Hitler’s Mein Kampf “an ideological blueprint for healthy Aryan survival.”

In its statement on Sunday, the Westland, Mich.-based Nazi party wrote that the Occupy Wall Street protests are “TAYLOR [sic] MADE for National Socialists, as well as WN [White Nationalists] who are serious about DOING SOMETHING.”

“I urgently URGE all of you,” the statement’s unnamed author added, “to TAKE PART and JOIN IN when these protests hit your neck of the woods. Produce some flyers EXPLAINING the ‘JEW BANKER’ influence — DON’T wear anything marking you as an ‘evil racist’ — and GET OUT THERE and SPREAD the WORD!”

Yet they are out there as part of the mass of fringe elements as you can see here the pictures and videos. Even this lady spouted the same anti-semitic response;

Interviewer: “Name and affiliation?”

Occupy Los Angeles protester: “Patricia McAllister, I’m here representing myself but I do work for the Los Angeles Unified School District. I think that the Zionist Jews who are running these big banks and our Federal Reserve — which is not run by the federal government — they need to be run out of this country.”

Kind of ironic of how these things work itself out. And we pretty much know the history of why the Nazi went out after Jewish people, too, which resulted in the Holocaust. Observe this guy:

Horrific scooter incident, runs over OWS protestor!

Absolutely surreal. I managed to capture frames of a video of this spectacular scooter crash into an OWS demonstrator (or possibly somebody else). Below is my analysis of that horrific crash that mangled the left foot...no, right foot...well, you be the judge.

Verum Serum has more on this story and also another frame by frame analysis of this very, very bad (all too obvious) acting pretending to be horrifically injured. Now, tell me, which dramatic (but fake) photo shots will these OWS protesters use? It wouldn't take much of an imagination to figure out which shots they'll use. No blood. No obvious scratches. Just that some people are willing to make an obvious lie for bad gains. Truth is one thing, but making an obvious lie is an entirely different matter.

Here's another video shot from a better angle. And does show the scooter, which is not one of those heft Harley Davidson motorcycles, move very, very slowly. Although the writhing is overly dramatic. Even Olby questions this incident.

Oil independence and green fantasy

The most infuriating part is that our energy policy is based on utter fantasy:

When it was Mr. Hamm’s turn to talk briefly with President Obama, “I told him of the revolution in the oil and gas industry and how we have the capacity to produce enough oil to enable America to replace OPEC. I wanted to make sure he knew about this.”

The president’s reaction? “He turned to me and said, ‘Oil and gas will be important for the next few years. But we need to go on to green and alternative energy. [Energy] Secretary [Steven] Chu has assured me that within five years, we can have a battery developed that will make a car with the equivalent of 130 miles per gallon.’” Mr. Hamm holds his head in his hands and says, “Even if you believed that, why would you want to stop oil and gas development? It was pretty disappointing.”

The United States is still going to use oil in 5 years, 10 years and so on down the road. That's the reality. It'd be a whole lot better to get oil domestically than foreign. Alternate or clean technology takes time to develop and there’s zero chance we’ll all be driving electric vehicles in 5 years. ZERO chance as in "O"bama chance.

Obama said this when he was running for office on his pledge to end oil dependency.

“I will set a clear goal as president: in ten years we will finally end our dependence on oil in the Middle East,” said Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama.

But Obama was counting on total green energy to help end dependence on oil in the Middle East three years ago. We still have 7 years ago and we're no where nearer than we were 3 years ago.

Oil and gas is the solution to help out our massive national debt ($14 trillion) and deficits not to mention create thousands of jobs which, incidentally, the state of North Dakota, where the Bakken oil fields are, has an unheard of 3.5% unemployment rate - the lowest in the United States. Here's what Mr. Hamm's says about helping the U.S. debts.

It's hard to disagree with Mr. Hamm's assessment that Barack Obama has the energy story in America wrong. The government floods green energy—a niche market that supplies 2.5% of our energy needs—with billions of dollars of subsidies a year. "Wind isn't commercially feasible with natural gas prices below $6" per thousand cubic feet, notes Mr. Hamm. Right now its price is below $4. This may explain the administration's hostility to the fossil-fuel renaissance.

Mr. Hamm calculates that if Washington would allow more drilling permits for oil and natural gas on federal lands and federal waters, "I truly believe the federal government could over time raise $18 trillion in royalties." That's more than the U.S. national debt, I say. He smiles.

Oil and gas are here to stay. It's best to be completely free from foreign sources of oil. We have so much energy to tap into the United States may it be oil, gas, geothermal, wind energy, wave energy, methane hydrates, propane, electric and so on. It's just unreal on how easily we can become completely energy independent. So independent that we could eventually export oil to other countries who are not as energy rich as we are.

All I can say is how creepy this is.

Yet go onto the new (“Paid for by Obama for America”) AttackWatch.com website. It reads and looks like some sort of Stasi file (“file” is their vocabulary, not mine). It asks readers to inform them of criticism of Obama. The format is, I guess by intent, supposed to resemble a government intelligence dossier (“Attack files”), with its blaring black and red headers: “Attack” /”Attackers” (followed by names and pictures of the supposed bad guys)/”Attack Type” /(“public statements”) followed by check off boxes like “Have your seen or heard this attack?” “Yes/No”. It reminds me of of living in 1973 dictatorial Greece, when we all kept silent about the Colonels upon entering the apartment building, lest the government-paid concierge write something down not nice in her black book.

Apparently no one in the administration learned from the spooky tone of the now defunct Journolist. That obtuseness begs the question, what is it with these extra-journalistic efforts to intimidate critics, as if the 2012 campaign will be based around deterrence: e.g., as if: “Beware: if you criticize Barack Obama, your name and picture will appear on our “Attack File”. We are watching you, so you watch out!”

So creepier still is the request to snoop around and collect evidence for what the Roman emperors and French monarchs used to call maiestas/Lèse-majesté—supposed crimes against the head of state, by circulating criticism of his authority that might lessen his proper sense of majesty. Indeed, on AttackWatch.com there is a special pop-up window that is reminiscent of Crimestoppers.com that supposedly will help form some sort of a clearing house: “Your email”/”content of attack or link”/”Attack type”, “Attach” with a link “Report” that pops up yet another window.

Maybe liberals need to question their boss emeritus and wonder about the absurd paranoia to encourage people to go after people who criticize their boss? I'd say that's more than just a little creepy, and so tone-deaf as to be laughable seeing the absurdities. But remember this video back in 2008?And watch it til the end and you'll know who and what the video is in support of. All I can say how creepily ironic it has turned out to be 3 years later.

Interesting study by Jacob Vigil, professor of psychology at the University of New Mexico: Republicans are more happier than Democrats.

Excerpt:

Republicans, the study says, feel more threatened by the people they don't know. But -- and this is as counterintuitive a "but" as you'll find -- Republicans end up having a larger circle of friends than Democrats. Vigil found that Republicans have a looser definition of friendship, one that doesn't rely as much on the sort of intimacy that Democrats favor. Republicans tend to find friends who will help them -- socially, and especially professionally -- so Republicans end up searching out more people. Their suspicions of who is threatening them may not be completely accurate, but it does serve a purpose: It thins the ranks of potential friends and leaves the Republicans happier with whom they decide upon, because these friends can help them.

Democrats, meanwhile, are miserly. They have fewer friends, the study finds, after computing the data from the surveys, because many of them are victims -- victims, often, of childhood trauma, or the perceived victims of a cruel adult world. They sympathize with people more than Republicans, the surveys found, but Democrats don't befriend as many people, because they are wary of trusting them.

Yes!

Them Democrats... always wary and shifty toward the poor, the downtrodden, and the huddled mass they sympathize with but could not be able to befriend them. They're so high-minded and compassionate of them in a condescending way. Might as well they set up two metal standing poles and a red rope attached between them, and meet-greet the poor, the downtrodden, and the huddled mass in a formal environment, let them know they'll always look out for them but discreetly keep their distance from them.

I have a lot of friends who are Republican and Democratic, but have more Democratic friends than Republican. Why? Because I'm tolerant of them and because most of them aren't like other unhinged liberal nutjobs who goes around insulting or smearing any Republican or conservative in ad hominem or puerile ways. Yes, I'm looking at you, RLM. Most of the Democratic friends I know are generally nicer, respectful, and aren't that into politics much, just wanted to live and enjoy life. Though they held beliefs and ideas about the country and the government that I don't always agree with, but they are entitled to what they believe in and I respect their opinions. Who knows that someday, they may come to wisdom and become conservative or Republican? I'm pining my hope on that! But I digress.

It helps a conservative Republican to have a balanced circle of friends who are Republican and Democratic, conservative and liberal. They keep you on toes and make you more aware of their perspectives and moods about everything in life and politics. Ultimately, it is about having good friends in your life to have a healthy perspective on politics and life, lest the rancor and the ugliness from the far left or the far right could drag you down to their extreme levels and ruin your friendship with good people in your life.

Disagreement aside, Republicans can be friend with Democrats and vice versa, if things they share are mutual and have common ideas about the country and the goods it can do. They just have to pick and get to know each other over the time, enabling them to keep them or weed them out inevitably. You know, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were friends and rivals over the years, they had strong disagreements but worked together to form this nation. They competed each other for the Presidency of the country, though their campaigns were so bitter and dirty that both would not speak or write to each other for years, even after they left the White House. Eventually they reconciled and became friends again until their deaths. Adams uttered his last words thinking that Jefferson still lives as he died, but didn't know that Jefferson predeceased him by mere hours. Their messengers, bearing news of their passages, just passed each other unaware.

They were formidable enemies in politics but they were friends in life and they were Americans.

So are we all Americans, notwithstanding our political and ideological affiliations.

Election erection night on Foxnews?

With the title heading on Real Clear Politics Video using Sarah Palin's quote, "You blew it, President Obama" to the Foxnews overhanging sign that says "ELECTION HQ" did the whole thing momentarily become an arresting gaffe if you were quick enough to spot it. Go to the 3:24 mark on RCP video with Sarah Palin and Chris Wallace when the camera begins to zoom in on both of them. Watch carefully and you'll see the reflected word "ELECTION" seen as "ERECTION" with the letter "T" and "N" upside down off of Chriss Wallace's glassy, reflective desk. I'm sure Foxnews will want to change that once they realize the embarassing error. That word flashed long enough for about 2 or 3 seconds worth. Enough time to see the error. But I'm certain that these election results will face stiff competitions.

Well your risers, you own. As Comedy Central, you have property rights and complete control over that. No one will deny you that. We are content, though disappointed with your decision to withhold media credentials to us.

However, the last I heard the First Amendment still does apply to America. It not only applies to TV hosts, show producers and to networks, but extends to the public and to events held on federal land. Yes, public lands! Although it may not make any sense to you at this moment, the National Mall is not a TV set, although it may look like one.

As the former chief Washington producer for ABC’s “Good Morning America” for nine years, let me assure you that you cannot bar cameras from public walkways on the Mall. It has never happened.

And so we will be there crew and all.

It does seem a bit incredulous that a rally for “reasonableness” should exclude freely based camera crews exercising their First Amendment rights to cover your attendees walking on public property. Unless this is Prague in 1968. And unless Comedy Central own tanks. Or unless it deploys a Comedy Police with enforcement powers.

On the other hand maybe I got this all wrong…I thought you were merely trying to be clever when you said it was a rally for fear. If is that, then I certainly understand your attitudes and rules.

More Taxes Ahead

The administration is projecting that the deficit for the 2011 budget year, which began on Oct. 1, will climb to $1.4 trillion. Over the next decade, it will total $8.47 trillion.
Thanks to the Democrats in Congress for the partisan passage of Obamacare which requires everyone to own health insurance. At no other time in American history had a government forced citizens to purchase a product and gotten away with it, even as bad as the unjust taxation of the American colonies by King George III of England, which sparked the American Revolution. The forced mandate of Obamacare makes British taxation of the American colonies seem puerile in comparison.

ObamaCare hurts businesses and taxpayers. Many businesses are suffering. I was not too surprised to find out the health care cost for my family next year rises over 25% compared to this year rate, and the benefits are getting less...
So American companies and taxpayers are suffering under new health care laws including Boeing.

The Associated Press reported Monday that the Boeing Co. was asking 90,000 nonunion workers to pay more for their health insurance next year because of the new health care law passed by Democrats this year.

Check this how ObamaCare is impacting the businesses negatively.

With the biggest deficit under the worst U.S. president ever in the history, it is very troubling that Obama and the Democrats are still seeking more taxes from us taxpayers to reduce our national deficit by taxing us more and cutting down our tax breaks. Even our mortgage-interest deductions, our child tax credits, and the ability of employees to pay their portion of their health-insurance tab with pretax dollars are at stake!

Two weeks from now...a historic election

Back in 1994, the nation "threw a temper tantrum", as Peter Jennings of ABC News mockingly derided the voters' revolt against the Clinton administration and a Democratic majority in Congress, setting the stage for the Republicans' takeover of Congress and the implementation of the "Contract with America" agenda. That was a historic election.

This year, a historic election is in the making, two weeks from now. This time, the entire nation is bent on a revolution to challenge and repudiate Obama and his socialist-inspired agenda of hope and change. It's not just the GOP spearheading this revolution, it's the entire Tea Party movement.

But this is a different kind of a Congressional election. A number of political insiders and conservative bloggers pointed out that it is the first time a large number of Republican and conservative candidates running for Congress are not part of the old Republican establishment. For decades, it used to be that one must apply their worthiness to the GOP to run for Congress, get funding, support, and some endorsements from the establishment leaders. But no more. The GOP has proved itself as part of the problems festering the nation since 2000, many conservatives and independents (who mainly supported Republican principles) gradually distanced themselves from the GOP while Bush was in the White House, angered by Bush's handling of the economic crisis of 2008 and the Wall Street bailouts (the Crash of 2008). After Obama became President in 2009, the implementation and signing of the $787 billion stimulus package led to the birth of the Tea Party movement.

The new-to-politics candidates seem to be smarter, savvy, and sassier than the Republicans of the old, thanks to the Internet, grass-root supports, Sarah Palin, influential conservatives, and the Tea Party movement. The old Republican establishment has been swept away.

The Pelosi-Reid Congress and the Obama administration are the obvious targets of the Tea Party movement's ire and anger in the last two years, but the real target was the Republicans (in-name-only) in Congress who allowed these things to happen and did little to curtail the Obama-Pelosi-Reid governance madness. Some of them claimed to be pragmatic and centrist, but they have shown nothing to adhere to the Republican principles and failed to appease the conservatives and mainstreamed Republicans at large.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. Waiting to see that horrible witch of San Francisco lose her Speaker of the House position and end her dictatorship of the House of Representatives. Waiting to see that Nevadan nutjob lose his Majority Senate leadership and his Senator's seat to the Tea Party-backed candidate. Waiting to see several incumbents and corrupted Democrats lose their Congressional seats for good. The Republican Party and conservatives are poised to take over Congress but....

But I cannot honestly say that it'll be truly a historic election without some surefire indications from independent-minded analysts and insiders. They're saying that it may not be all that a complete takeover. Questions and doubts were raised about some new-to-politics candidates. Frankly, it's obvious that Obama's people have been planting seeds of doubt by their own "trackers" (campaign staffers to stalk potential candidates and record any misstatement, gaffe, raise doubt, etc.) in order to lessen their opponents' appeal to the public at large (mainstreamed voters who swing either way). This week and the next week will tell us everything we needed to know about everyone before we cast our votes on November 2nd.

And that I'm just saying.

Representative John Boehner of Ohio is likely to take the Speaker's position, but he received lukewarm support from social conservatives, who are apparently not fond of bi-partisanship with pro-choice/anti-life politicians in Congress. Some think Representative Mike Pence of Indiana should challenge Boehner and compete for that position (Pence may be running for President in 2012). The post-November 2nd period is going to be more interesting than the pre-November 2nd period. If the Democrats lose Congress by the majority and the American people repudiates him, I'm fairly certain that Obama will blame everyone (and Bush) but himself. Although, the rats have been leaving Obama's sinking ship already.

Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, a host of conservatives, and Tea Partiers are gleefully anticipating this historic election in the making. If the Republicans assume the majority in Congress, few things are likely going to be on the front and center of the nation: the repeal of Obamacare, runaway government spending, the war in Afghanistan, the inquiries and investigation into Holder's Department of Justice, end Obama's persecution of Arizona law on illegal immigration, and so forth. These issues must be dealt with once and for all.

So remember November 2nd. Repudiate Obama.

If you haven't noticed anything then look over to the right side of this blog and you'll see a large blue Facebook icon with a link to "Republicans with Hearing Loss." There is one month left until the November election and many Republican candidates have a very good shot of reclaiming the seats in both the Senate and House, and, of course, will probably see more Republican governors for a change, too.

As for hearing loss, it doesn't matter how much hearing loss you have or if you are Deaf, deaf, or hard of hearing. Doesn't matter if you call yourself deaf or hearing impaired. Doesn't matter if you sign or not. Doesn't matter if you can hear well or not. Doesn't matter a whit. But what matters is that you do have a voice in America and with over 33 million people in the United States with hearing loss you can bet your bottom dollar you can be heard....loudly!

In the final stretch....and those missing in action

We have one month left until the November 2, 2010 election for seats in the United States Senate, the House and for Governor. Already predictions are coming in that the GOP is the favorite party in regaining their seats plus more. This includes seeing more Republican governors voted in for 2010 as well. This has been an interesting year or so watching how many people, especially deaf/hh people, react to what has been happening in U.S. politics. Although the reaction from deaf people is rather limited unless you happen to come across a forum on politics. Though it was interesting to go to Alldeaf discussion forum and watch deaf people try and justify and defend the White House administration's out of control spending (and program expansion efforts) with a deficit spending of $1.4 trillion dollars in 2009 (3 1/2 times bigger deficit spending than Bush last year in office in 2008) and on track for $1.3 trillion this year. But their efforts to defend and justify are probably no different than from what hearing people are doing. Both examples of burying their heads in the sand and not hearing the coming bankruptcy that will effect every single one of us. The spending is simply unsustainable. They need to understand that and the consequences of an ever so increasing debt which leads to ever increasing interest rates owed for borrowed money to continue with their spending habits. Not good.

Now, not only did the Stimulus Package not work as expected, it hasn't helped with the unemployment rate reaching close to 10% unemployment rate. Or the fact that the forced passing of a national health care will force insurance companies to drop individual insurance options though the White House keep saying you can keep your choices of insurance. Problem is that it ultimately falls to the insurance whether they want to continue with that insurance option for you. Just a few days ago McDonald's dropped insurance options for their workers because of the upcoming health insurance regulations which would threatened existing insurance coverages for hourly workers.

Things like that.

People are angry at what the Democrats have done in Congress and in the White House. Polls continue to show a declining trend over the past year or so which has gotten worse with each passing month. This is indicative of voters' discontent and their nervousness of what their future may portend. Their unhappiness are directed at the current Congress and the White House.

Just to get slightly off topic I like to discuss something else I've noticed lately. I find it rather curious that there are no blogs run by deaf Democrats about the upcoming election. Nor are there any deaf blogs that have discussed politics over the last year or so. Here are some of those "missing in action" in the upcoming November election.

Deaf Democrats blog has been inactive for over a year. I don't know what has happened to the few contributors or editors of that blog. But it was interesting in revisiting a blog piece done in 2008 about how the GOP is sinking. How revelatory that is right now seeing the Democrats tanking left and, well, right.

Micah's Brain blog last entry by Micah Brown was done on November 9, 2008 although he definitely will not blog about this upcoming election or anything else since he was arrested for having sex with a minor earlier this year and recently sentenced.

Deaf Democrats of America flopped.

Deaf Democrats Facebook is essentially in limbo with its last news about their announcement of a new blog, Deaf Democrats, which has been inactive for more than a year. It has only 83 members. And yet the election is only a month away. Why the deafening silence?

Uncle Tom

It was an unfortunate thing. In one deaf discussion forum I brought up the "Restoring Honor" rally where Glenn Beck played the host and the question quickly came up on where were the blacks or African Americans in a "sea of white." Of course, there were many that attended the event which happened to be the same date when MLK did his "I have a dream" speech on August 28, 1963 exactly 47 years ago on the same steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Though light on the turnout for those who were not "white" the whole theme of this rally was about honoring people and America, not about skin color. A concept lost on some of the people in Alldeaf who were so focused on the racial aspect rather than see the rally for the content of a person's character instead.

Lloyd Marcus, a black Conserverative, wrote a piece today in the American Thinker about the issue of race at this rally but Beck isn't the one who are having issues:

Alleged civil rights leaders, including Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP President Benjamin Jealous, are having a cow because Glenn Beck had the audacity to schedule his "Restoring Honor" rally on August 28th on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. It is the same date and location of Dr. Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech 47 years ago.

These are the same hypocritical so-called black leaders who demanded that white America honor the memory of the civil rights icon with MLK Boulevards across America. But when a "white boy" chooses to embrace Dr. King's vision and dream by holding his "Restoring Honor" rally on the same day as Dr. King's historic speech, the Black Civil Rights Mafia, the race profiteers, yell, "How dare you? MLK belongs to us!"
I am a black American who wishes to thank brother Beck for honoring Dr. King in such a powerful way. Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally is linking the restoration of our great nation's Godly principles, freedom, liberty, and culture to the black civil rights leader. Beck's rally is a wonderful tribute to the man I remember, when I was a little boy, as being larger than life. I was there, August 28, 1963, in Washington, D.C. with my dad -- yellow school buses lined up and black people as far as I could see. I do not remember feeling hate in the air. Dr. King spoke of all Americans yielding to God, righteousness, and brotherhood. Sounds like Beck to me.

It certainly does sound like Beck.

And the unfortunate thing happened unbelievably in this day an age from a deaf, ignorant lily white guy who had the unmitigated gall to call Lloyd Marcus (and others) an "Uncle Tom" in a discussion forum (keep scrolling, you'll find it). This was your typical name-calling race card thrown about haphazardly in the hope that something sticks. It didn't. "Uncle Tom" (see definition) is one of those overly used race card category that has no merit in this day and age. The irony of it all was that the name calling came from a white guy calling a black guy an "Uncle Tom." Pretty laughable if not for the sheer stupidty of it all. Might as well be tone-deaf, too. It's pretty regretful to see this happen and I'm still trying to understand why somebody would say such a thing. I am hoping that this was simply done out of anger toward me than anything else. Or perhaps the person doesn't fully understand the meaning of the word "Uncle Tom" and the impact it can generate for saying that unnecessarily so? Who knows. The fact is that these are American people who simply showed their support by going to the Restoring Honor rally. And yet they get called out because of the color of their skin? Unreal. This is 2010. We should be past that by now.

With black Conservatives we'd get to see morons call people like Lloyd Marcus an "Uncle Tom" just for having an alternative opinion and beliefs that go along the same vein as the National Black Republican Association's own conservative beliefs.

Lloyd Marcus sums it up nicely about this "Uncle Tom" thing:

The Black Civil Rights Mafia are the true racists, guilty of betraying their own people. While claiming their mission is "black empowerment," these race-peddlers cripple blacks by convincing them they are victims. In reality, black Americans are truly blessed to be born in the greatest land of opportunity on the planet.

There were many blacks at the event such as some of the members of the Project 21 black conservative group who attended the event like Deneen Borelli, a conservative Republican, attended the rally along with her husband.

And then have Izzy Felix, a conservative in D.C., writes on his Facebook page: " I had a great time in DC today to honor our military and our God. Very inspiring speakers. Palin was awesome as usual."

Where's the outrage when black Conservative supporters and activists are called the "N" word or as "Uncle Toms" (scroll a few pages and you'll find it) by people who are of the non-caucasian type? What right does a lily white guy to go around calling Lloyd Marcus and many other well known black Conservatives as "Uncle Toms" ? It's rather odd and surprising to hear those two words, Uncle Tom, tossed about haphazardly from a lily white guy who is gay and deaf who should already know enough about repression and discrimination yet does the same thing against Lloyd Marcus and other black Conservatives for simply having their own conservative beliefs and ideology which happens to match much of what Glenn Beck and many others believe that day at the rally and at the microphone. Such shame of all things in this day and age. This is 2010. Not the 1950s, 60s or 70s. This closed-mindness from people need to seriously stop associating skin color with what political party one ought to belong to or not belong to. There are many people whether the skin is black, white, green, blue, yellow, orange, brown or rainbow colors who do agree on many of the conservative beliefs and ideology. This is about what people believe in , the content of a person's character and not about skin color that was so espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King that day on August 28, 1963 on the same steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

What I think speaks volume in the city of D.C. (blacks make up 54% of the population or about 320,000 blacks or African Americans) that day is when you had Sharpton and Jealous, both black leaders, who couldn't get more than a couple thousand of black folks (with a few white folks, too) on a Saturday to support their own rally which was nothing more than a rant against the Restoring Honor rally which was also a day of honoring MLK and people of all stripes. Not a day about politics.

And as a close out we have Nadra Enzi (aka Capt. Black who is a self-described "Republican with sense on social issues" promotes Black bipartisanship; crime prevention and self-development) who had this to say about the "Imperial Left":

We know the Imperial Left decreed all Black folks should be Democrats. This remains in force despite acute need for representation on both sides of the aisle. Within the Black community this decree morphed into a litmus test so intolerant that if Malcolm X returned as " Malcolm the Republican " many former followers would reject him without second thought. The same hold true for any other progressive figure one could name.

and he ends with this:

While they blame the Right they overlook their crimes against the poor and people who work hard. play by the rules but don't have the pedigree to live the good life enjoyed by the upper crust of the Imperial left.

I've refused to bow down to them for one simple reason: a dictator who resembles me isn't an upgrade over one who doesn't.

Indeed.

Foxnews....outside of the MSM

Certainly we can see that Foxnews is a conservative news media that touts a well known tagline "Fair and Balanced" and is the number one cable news for years now. But here's something I've found interesting in some Deaf circles (perhaps some of them are really liberals?). They seem to have this inability to understand the conservatives use of the acronymn "MSM" ("Mainstream Media") when used in a political context. Or simply put, some of them simply don't understand the concept of "MSM" nowadays. And it gets really silly to see them run around and scream that "Foxnews is MSM!" That simply shows a serious lack of understanding on the use of the acronymn "MSM." Instead of "MSM" they're sometime called the "Lamestream Media" just to drive a point here. Foxnews does not fall under the "MSM" description nowadays.

The use of "MSM" on a daily basis within a political context is usually meant that a particular media group is overwhelmingly Democratic (or liberal in this case, too) in their political orientation but also skew far to the left of average Americans on virtually every major social and economic issue, from tax cuts to abortion. The tag "MSM" has been reserved for quite sometime for the liberal media from networks to newspapers to news mags such as the CBS, NBC, ABC news, CNN to NYTimes newspaper to Time magazine. In short, MSM means liberal media or Democratic media.

Understand now? Now, don't be an idiot and say that "Foxnews is part of the MSM!" which isn't true nowadays. By saying that you really do not understand what "MSM" means as a conservative perjorative within a political context.

Whether the NAACP has hit rock bottom during its grave-digging remains to be seen.

Republican Rand Paul won the Republican nomination on Tuesday to face off against Democrat Jack Conway for retiring US Senator Jim Bunning's seat here in Kentucky. Paul, a newcomer to election scene as a candidate, is the son of Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. In his first race for public office, he has ridden the wave of donors from across the US (his father's donor network) utilizing internet "money bombs" to finance his campaign. He defeated Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, long considered an "up and comer" in the Republican party, who had secured the endorsement of US Senator Mitch McConnell, and Congressman Hal Rogers (among others), while Paul secured the endorsement of Sarah Palin and others.

Many charges were flung back and forth during the campaign, primarily that Trey was "connected at the hip" to the Democrats (by Rand Paul) due to him formerly being a Democrat years ago when he was young, and the Grayson campaign accused Rand of being an outsider to Kentucky (because he was born in Texas) and having ideas that were just "too extreme".

Grayson was viewed as the more "moderate" of the two candidates, and in this year of "toss the bums out" politics, he was mostly defeated by a campaign that latched onto ONE singular issue and beaten over the head with it. The issue? Fiscal conservatism. Rand Paul advocates doing away with earmarks completely, for example. COMPLETELY. IMMEDIATELY. Trey Grayson advocated for earmark reform, but stated that immediate stoppage of earmarks was not possible nor feasible. And he is correct. But because of the Obamacrats tripling the deficit and mortaging away our great-grandkids' futures, the voters were in no mood to hear that.

Very little attention was paid to the fact that Rand Paul campaigned for his father's presidential campaign, and they advocated for example, legalizing heroin, making gay marriage rights a state issue, and that crime problems should be addressed at the state level on state money only, no federal money. Those are just a few of the issues. I fear that voters may have been unable to see the forest for the trees in this election, and hope I am wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm for fiscal conservatism too, and I absolutely support decreasing the size of government and government intervention in our lives. But there has to be a balance. I've said it before, and I say again here... There are times when it is NECESSARY for federal government intervention and/or regulation, but we have to be smart about it. I will unite behind Paul for the party, make no mistake, but I will express my views irregardless.

Now, for the Tea Party people themselves, let me say this: I've met many of you. You are, by and large, outstanding people who have made a tremendous impact upon our party, increased enthusiasm, and have pushed ideas to the forefront that have been largely ignored during the Obamacrat's heavy-handed takeover of our government. For that, I thank you and support you.

Ahh, but the proverbial "BUT" is coming... Do NOT throw out the baby with the bathwater. Some of the people in the Tea Party are arrogant, demeaning of others with ideas not completely in lockstep with theirs, and intimidating in their actions (same could be said for the liberals, etc.). These people are the ones being used by the national mainstream media and liberal talking heads to paint us ALL as a bunch of neo-Nazi skinheads, and it harms our image. It IS possible to be conservative and remain true to our conservative beliefs and still find common ground for compromise without violating those beliefs. Reagan was a former Democrat, remember? He presided mostly from the center-right, and advocated a big tent in which we united on the BIG issues, and the smaller issues we could disagree on and find a way to compromise. Many consider him the greatest President from the Republican Party in modern history, and his name and quotes are often invoked by members of the Tea Party in speeches, etc. Follow his example of civility, good public discourse, and stay true to the principles. But don't, under any circumstances, toss out those Republicans you consider "too mainstream" just because you don't agree with them. Work with them, educate them on your viewpoints, and try to find the common ground.

Our party and country will be the better for it if you do. This race in Kentucky is one of THE clearest delineanations between Republican and Democrat in the country. Conway was a supporter of Obama's Health Reform. Paul was not. Conway would support cap and trade. Paul would not. Paul wants to abolish the Federal Reserve, Conway has not staked a position on this publicly. The list goes on and on.

But the caveat emptor (buyer beware) in this is a little nugget of information: Kentucky has nearly 570,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans, yet mainly votes Republican at the federal level. Will Paul modify his stances more toward the middle to court crossover Democrats? You bet he will, he has to in order to win. And I fear that he will get slammed on being a flip-flopper if his campaign is not careful and does not control his message. I also will say "I told you so" if he gets slammed, because Trey Grayson was more moderate, and would not have had to adjust his message at all. Conway polled better against Paul than Grayson, more than likely due to that very issue. All eyes will be on Kentucky, and perhaps the Tea Party wave will crest here, perhaps not. It should make for an interesting race, a bellweather nationally for the Tea Party to see if they have truly set roots on a national level. Utah was sort of an aberration, I believe, mainly because it is lightly populated and has always been staunchly Republican. Their candidate getting the nomination there was more "a different shade of gray" than anything.

Now, supposed someone at a Tea Party rally displayed a sign that said something simular about our President choking I'm sure there would have been a rash of fake outrage and declare that the Tea Party is a symptom of the violence inherent in the conservative system. I'll say this right here and right now. It is wrong to wish harm on our leaders, representatives, senators, mayors, governors, presidents and the likes. You may and can certainly disagree on a lot of things but don't be an imbecile and wish harm on our leaders and recognized community members such as Sarah Palin.

No Time To Rest

Things are starting to turn around for conservatives. It’s a great feeling. The comedy of errors known as the Democratic Party is shifting public sentiment back to a conservative point of view. It’s a great time to be us. It reminds me of another time when things looked bright for conservatives. A time when a bumbling liberal President found himself in personal and political hot water, rumors of affairs were resurfacing, a controversial health care plan was being considered and a very unpopular veto of a partial birth abortion ban had been issued. Of course I am talking about 1996……..we lost. How can that be possible?

To start with Conservatives failed to identify with their audience and more importantly they failed to connect with that audience. In 1996 hour long expressions of outrage and books about the moral decay of our Nation lost out to random 5 second sound bites of “aw shucks”. The message was totally lost. I remember speaking with a Clinton supporter shortly after the election. I asked this person if she had voted once again for Clinton. She had. I knew this person well. She was intelligent, devoutly Christian and pro life. Out of curiosity, I asked her how she reconciled the veto of the partial birth abortion ban with her beliefs. Typical of Clinton supporters she answered a question with a question…….”what is that?” You see, due to the temperament of the time, people had grown weary of the bickering and avoided national news. The simple message that would have changed many votes failed to reach or resonate with the people.

In addition Conservatives overestimated the life span of American outrage. The veto of the partial birth abortion ban came in September of 1996 and was lost on most voters by the election in November. This is a lesson we must remember. I am reminded of the story of a Republican Senator who often attended Democratic breakfasts. Democrats saw him there often but paid no attention to it. One day a Democrat senator came up to him and said “I noticed you have been attending some of our meetings, are you having a change of heart”? “Not at all” the Republican replied “I come to keep my disgust fresh”. That is the challenge we must meet today. We must deliver our message without tiring our audience with repetitious rhetoric and bile. We must keep the “disgust” our audience feels toward the current administration “fresh”.

How do we do that? Well first we must find the proper mediums to reach those who rarely watch national news. Political ads will be more important than ever this year. Word of mouth will be very important as well. Conservatives must create the energy of a grass roots movement. We simply cannot stop talking between now and November. However, if our message is unclear we will fail again. Every critical statement we make between now and the election must contain both a promise and a plan for a solution. The voters need to know that we are not motivated by hatred for the Administration but rather by our plan that will create solutions for the Nation’s problems without burdening our Nation’s future with debt. Our message must be positive.

Conservatives are very misunderstood in America. We must reintroduce ourselves. We believe that the American people are good. That given the opportunity Americans will gladly help their fellow man. Conservatives are compassionate and sympathetic to those in need. We believe that entrusting charity to a 535 member congress is inefficient. That is why we vote against government entitlements. We believe the American people want jobs. That is why our focus will be on giving business the tools it needs to create jobs for the people. Not contributing to the dependency of the unemployed worker. The American people must be assured that we care.

Once we are successful in November we must again fight the desire to rest. A plan is only as good as the action that follows. We must fight to provide for the needy so that people can see our compassion. We must expose members of our own party who act immorally and we must hold them accountable. We must expose our own members when they make backroom deals. We must keep individuals in our party from destroying our efforts to regain the trust of the people. And most importantly we must represent the people and assure that their voice is heard.

This isn’t about winning an election. This is about restoring America to its past glory. This is about protecting our grandchildren from having to pay for our mistakes. This is about restoring the American dream that says if you work hard and focus you can make it here. Everybody has an opportunity. At the same time we must end the American nightmare that says if that if you have some bad luck, no problem, your government will take from others and provide for you.
We have reached the most critical point in our nation’s history. The people must hear our message. They must hear our hope and not our fear. They must feel our compassion and not our hate. They must see our action and not our rage. This is no time to rest.

Where Is The True Republican "Big Tent" Leader?

For years now, Republican leadership has been acting too much like Democrats. There, I said it. But what do I mean when I say that? It is simple, really. The Republican leadership has, for too long, decried their lack of impact across broad social, racial, and gender boundaries as being the result of the Democrats making inroads in those areas by giving away the farm, so to speak, in terms of welfare and entitlement.

While that may be mostly true, a closer examamination of themselves will reveal the truth; that they have failed to be effective communicators. We have not had a true communicator since Ronald Reagan, and if we want to return to those days, we need to find one ASAP. Reagan was the last TRUE advocate of a real "big tent" philosophy in which it was entirely possible to maintain your core conservative principles as long as you explained, in clear English, your case to those who had differences of opinion. In other words, under Reagan, it was entirely possible to be Republican AND support what some people (wrongly in many cases) view as "traditional" Democratic issues.

A case in point:

Many people fail to realize that a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It was the Republicans who, in the 1970's, crafted the "Philidelphia Plan" that broke down the racial barriers of the construction unions in keeping blacks out of skilled trades, and a Republican (John McCain) is widely credited with drafting most of the Telecommunications section of the ADA that required the creation of the relay services. Blacks were, from the time of Lincoln to the time of Hoover, FAR more likely to be Republican voters than Democrat. Many Hispanics oppose "bilingual education" and open border policies. Why, with a history such as that, should the Republican Party constantly be in the position of having to defend their civil rights record? Because we have allowed the Democratic Party to co-opt the issues, being far more articulate and putting a better "spin" on their side of the story than ours. Reagan understood this, and was much beloved for the simple fact that he stood his ground and made his case in plain English. You didn't have to like him, or even agree with him, but you knew EXACTLY what his stance on an issue was, and you could respect his principles. We don't have that any more. What we have is too many Republicans acting like Democrats and believing that the only way back to power is to give away the farm to any and all people in an attempt to please everyone, without understanding the consequences of such actions.

Any rational person (that is in short supply nowadays, I fear) knows that you will NEVER find a candidate that you agree 100% with on every issue. What we need now is someone, anyone, from within the party who can clearly and simply lay out what our principles are, defend our history (that requires knowing it first, people) and present a clear path back to fiscal conservatism, a strong national defense, lower taxes and less government spending, and so forth and so on. Democrats, in a sense, have an easier case to make. It does not, after all, take a genius to make a case for government handing out benefits left and right, but looking at the CONSEQUENCES of such actions requires skill in communicating the dangers of the government being the proverbial "Santa Claus".

Why am I writing about this? Because mainly, I am distressed at the lack of Republican support of HR 3101. In an age where we are close to creating a national broadband plan that will allegedly increase internet access for everyone, ZERO Republicans have shown a willingness to support this plan that would require captioning on internet videos. We are now at the point where even major news networks are beginning to contemplate a full and complete foray into internet-only news broadcasting (ABC is an example), our Republican elected officials (and quite a few Democrats like Rick Boucher), in an amazing display of coordinated spineless contortionism to the huge bankrolled coffers of internet and media interest brokers, have failed to sign on to ensure that the 36 million Americans with some form of hearing loss have access to captioned videos in the dawning of this (not really) new media age. The score right now is, I believe Democrats 44 Republicans 0 in terms of co-sponsoring this legislation. Talk about (to borrow an old cliche) "not seeing the forest for the trees", or "cutting off their noses to spite their faces", to borrow another one. It is an ignorance and a lack of courage to do the right thing, plain and simple. I know that many of my fellow Republicans will decry this, falling back upon their supposed "less regulation" principle. But less regulation is NOT "no" regulation. There is a time and a place for federal intervention, to ensure equal access for example, and this is one of those times. At present though, we have no one in the party willing (or able) to COMMUNICATE this idea in a manner everyone can understand and appreciate.

The Republican party may feel that they are currently on the rebound, with the general widespread backlash (rightfully so) against a government takeover of health care and other socialist policies implemented by the unholy triad of Reid-Pelosi-Obama. But I fear that, unless we study our history and understand WHY we were so successful when we were, and HOW we can return to that success, any gains we make may be short-lived at best.

So guess which federal agency will be empowered to enforce Obamacare? The Justice Department? No. The FBI? Doh, no. *gulp* The IRS?!

According to the National Review Online, they got the House GOP analysis of the CBO's reports: IRS will enforce Obamacare.

How many people will it take to change a lightbulb enforce Obamacare?

Based on the current cost to employ this division’s workforce, an additional $1 billion per year would mean 12,500 new employees at the IRS.

What they will do?

The bill gives the IRS many new powers and tasks the IRS with the responsibility to enforce the mandates on individuals to purchase insurance the government deems acceptable as well as employer mandates to provide insurance the government deems affordable. In short, the Democrats’ bill will give the IRS sweeping new powers and require the IRS to become a much more intrusive force in every American’s life.

Holy cow! What if I don't have health insurance but still working to earn more money?

. . .the IRS will come knocking with steep taxes and potentially heavy penalties in hand. If employers do not provide coverage or if they provide coverage that the government considers “unaffordable” the IRS will be at the employer’s door with taxes and possible penalties.

WTF?! This is crazy! How will they get the information about me?

Massive Amounts of Personal Data Will Be Sent to the IRS. Names and addresses of those covered under insurance plans, dates they were covered under “minimum essential coverage” during the year, whether the coverage is inside or outside of the Exchange, how much of the premium was subsidized based on income, and whatever else the Secretary of Treasury decides to include will be sent to the IRS.

This is straight-up highway robbery! What will it mean for me, my family and my fellow Americans?

The bill sends the IRS out to tax the very products Americans use to maintain and restore their own health. New taxes on medical devices, on prescription drugs, and on health insurance itself are all targets of the bill. And, with $10 billion in new enforcement resources, you can bet the IRS will be taking its full share out of the pockets of every American who uses any of these products or services.

This is giving the IRS a pure massive social engineering of the American society. Absolutely freaking insane. This is a massive expansion of governmental powers and likely will increase the national deficit over the long term.

Worst part of it? Obamacare will cost American taxpayers about $2 trillion and that's only for the first decade (2013-2023). Expect it will goes much higher in the second decade if Obamacare is not repealed. The Purple Avenger over at Ace of Spade HQ has the right sentiment:

Such a deal eh? Never before has "pay more get less" tasted so good! If the Robber Barons of old were alive to see this they'd bow their heads in awe of the shear brazenness and magnitude of this public fleecing and realize they'd operated like amateurs even during their heyday.

To the mainstreamed media, such as MSNBC and AP, shut the hell up with your stupid lies. Being against big government and support the Tea Party movement does not make one a right-wing extremist who could goes around shooting at people or police at will or flying a plane into a building.

One of these days, liberal proponents of big government are going to find themselves in a deep doo-doo. Should we give them shovels to dig their way further in?

Senator Bunning Guilty of Being Fiscally Responsible and Exposing Democratic Hypocrisy!

Liberal media and Democrats have been demonizing Senator Jim Bunning (R) of Kentucky for his staunch refusal to go along with a congressional bill to extend unemployment benefits and money for other federal programs, unless there must be some money somewhere to pay for it.

Today, Senator Bunning posted an op-ed article in the USAToday, explaining why he took a stand.

Excerpt:

Over a month ago, Democrats passed and President Obama signed into law the "Pay-Go" legislation. It calls on Congress to pay for bills by not adding to our debt. It sounds like a common sense tool that would rein in government spending. Unfortunately, Pay-Go is a paper tiger. It has no teeth. I did not vote for the Democrats' Pay-Go legislation because I knew it was just a political dog-and-pony show to get some good press after some political setbacks. Since the Pay-Go rule was enacted, the national debt has gone up $244,992,297,448.11 (as of Wednesday, that is).

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and other liberal media outlets made little or no mention of "Pay-go" legislation, enacted by the Democrats, in their demonization pieces on Bunning. An ABC News crew went so far to literally haranguing Sen. Bunning on national television as he was stepping into a Senators-only elevator (and the reporter stupidly tried to follow him into it).

The whole attack on Bunning and his stand against deficit spending was ridiculous. He did not completely opposed the bill, he opposed the Democrats' attempt to saddle the bill with a large amount of money out of thin air, with no way knowing of where the money is going to come from or how's the bill going get paid in full? He suggested borrowing a part of unspent funds from the bank stimulus bill but Nevadan Senator Descendant of a Drunk-Horse-Thief Reid tersely denied his request. It was a sound idea but the Democrats think the recession-wrecked big banks are much more important than unemployed Americans, so no unspent funds for the little people.

But the liberal media dare not mention that little issue. The attack on Bunning for trying to push the Democrats into a fiscally responsible position of financing the bill get somewhat out of proportion when the Democrats complained to the RINOs about Bunning. And the RINOs scolded Bunning and gently forced him to accept a deal from the Democrats. What kind of deal he accepted has not been reported or mentioned.

Unrestrained and irresponsible deficit spending will lead to a national collapse of the US economy but the Democrats doesn't seem to care about the country or the economy, only just keep up spending more and taxing more. Employed and unemployed Americans have no idea of what a true economic collapse would look like. I can imagine chaos, anarchy, violence and death.

Side note: Senator Jim Bunning is a Hall of Fame Major League pitcher, scored 100 wins and 1000 strikeouts throughout his career, second most after Cy Young.

When a Democrat says "I told you so" about Obama's dishonesty

Imagine a life long Democrat voting for McCain because she saw right through Obama and his lack of experience to be presidential material.

Back in September 2008, as a lifelong Democratic Party loyalist and activist, I backed John McCain; I told The New York Times, “I love my country more than my party.” Supporting a Republican was the last thing I expected to be doing in the fall of 2008. But I knew it was my only choice, given the decision by the Democratic Party establishment to reject 18 million voters in favor of the inexperienced and ideological Barack Obama.

Now, imagine the many of us deaf and hard of hearing voters who saw the exact same thing as Rothschild about Obama.

How's that hope and change working out of you?

Does the campus of Gallaudet University presents an unconducive environment for Republican students?

I am wondering outloud here like I have before some 6 years ago and what is probably a sure bet is that on the campus of Gallaudet University are mostly students who are of the liberal/Democrat types. This includes, most likely, professors who are probably of the same mold and thinking who have used their positions to influence students (rather than allow them the opportunity to improve upon their critical thinking skills?). Something like forcing students to volunteer just to earn credits and graduate from Gallaudet? Does that not sound odd at all? Or maybe the only two members on Gallaudet University's Board of Trustees' "Voting Trustees Public Members" are in fact liberals. Just find that interesting, that's all.

But four years ago Trevor Brennan, an undergrad of Gallaudet University, agreed in a Gallaudet blog that the campus is overwhelmingly full of Democrats and exclaimed that he is always getting into heated debates. I wouldn't be surprised since there is a Democratic Party Chapter for Gallaudet University students who are interested in forming their own political chapter on campus but ironically there is no Republican Party Chapter for Gallaudet University as far as I can tell. Although there is a College Republican National Committee website that came online last year and it's something for students at Gallaudet University to think about and form a college Republican group on campus.

College Republicans is the nation's oldest, largest, and most active youth political organization. Founded in 1892, there are currently over 200,000 CR's around the country on 1,800+ campuses in every state and DC.Every year, CR's from all across America come together to help elect Republican candidates, support the Republican agenda, and become the future leaders of the conservative movement. College Republicans are the grassroots arm of the Republican Party - the counterbalanace to the unions and leftist interest groups.

Casey, an undergrad at Gallaudet University who is a conservative had something to say in his own blog last year and makes several good points, too.

Since I was learning all of this in DC, my first encounters with others of
opposing (and similar) views obviously took place at Gallaudet University. I have said before that I am a Conservative Independent. Because of what I believe (both politically and about Jesus Christ), teachers, friends, and acquaintances have called me closed-minded, fanatic, discriminatory, egotistical, brain-washed, un-educated, and stupid.

“Why?” I ask.

I have firm beliefs about who I am and what I stand for. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and I believe what the Bible teaches is true and life-changing. My beliefs are my own. I make my own decisions. I have all kinds of friends of different races and walks of life who I love and care about, but who know that, because of what I believe in the Bible, I cannot approve of some of their actions. We spend time together and have fun anyway! I am not un-educated. I have a high school diploma, an Associate’s Degree, and I am working towards my BA Degree. I am not stupid. I had a 3.9 GPA in high school, a 3.89 GPA (4.0 in my major courses) in junior college, and I have a 3.96 GPA at my current four-year university. So why do people accuse me of and ridicule me for something that I am not?

What people do not realize is that most everyone is just like me. They are closed-minded fanatics who “don’t accept other’s ideas or points of view” and they have their own firm beliefs. They may not believe the same things I do and they may have a different view on how to handle an issue, but just as I firmly believe what I believe, so do liberals and moderates believe what they believe. They are not going to easily change their minds about what they are passionate about and believe is true and neither am I. They say that I do not accept their point of view and that I am discriminating against others because of it. Just look at what they are saying! Neither are they accepting my point of view. Does that mean that they are discriminating against me?

Interesting questions. The question I have is why is Gallaudet University a mostly liberal/Democrat campus? Where are the Republican student leaders? Are there factors here on campus that somehow suppresses or discourages any kind of movements for students to form their own political identity who do not agree with the Democrat's thinking? All worthy questions for students at Gallaudet University to think about.

We welcome President Obama’s announcement of forthcoming bipartisan health care talks. In fact, you may remember that last May, Republicans asked President Obama to hold bipartisan discussions on health care in an attempt to find common ground on health care, but he declined and instead chose to work with only Democrats. Since then, the President has given dozens of speeches on health care reform, operating under the premise that the more the American people learn about his plan, the more they will come to like it. Just the opposite has occurred: a majority of Americans oppose the House and Senate health care bills and want them scrapped so we can start over with a step-by-step approach focused on lowering costs for families and small businesses. . ..

We cannot help but notice that each of the President’s recent bipartisan overtures has been coupled with harsh, misleading partisan attacks. For instance, the President decries Republican ‘obstruction’ when it was Republicans who first proposed bipartisan health care talks last May.

The President says Republicans are ‘sitting on the sidelines’ just days after holding up our health care alternative and reading from it word for word. The President has every right to use his bully pulpit as he sees fit, but this is the kind of credibility gap that has the American people so fed up with business as usual in Washington.We look forward to receiving your answers and continuing to discuss ways we can move forward in a bipartisan manner to address the challenges facing the American people.

Rep. John Murtha dies....

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa) died after a gall bladder surgery where his intestine was accidentally knicked, reportedly so, that led to infection and complications thereafter. The Wahington Post reported this shocking news.

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), 77, a Vietnam veteran who staunchly supported military spending and became a master of pork-barrel politics, died today at Virginia Hospital Center. The 19-term lawmaker died from complications of gallbladder surgery.

Elected to Congress in 1974 from a southwestern Pennsylvania district that has been economically devastated by the decline of America’s coal-mining and steel industries, the gruff and jowly Rep. Murtha was beloved by his constituents for tapping billions of dollars in federal funds to seed new industries there.

This wasn't the idea to get John out of the race although he was known as the "antiwar democrat" despite being a former Marine who was famous for his cold-blooded attack on innocent US Marines in Haditha, Iraq.

He is also remembered for getting caught on videotape in a bribery scheme, and for being reelected by his constituents despite mocking them for “clinging to their guns and bibles.” He was also a pork barrel king bringing in billions of dollars for his state.

RIP, Murtha.

Next question, who will replace Murtha for the November 2010 election race for the Pennsylvania seat?

Hmm, crib notes on Obama's hand? What is this world coming to? I guess Sarah Palin has done the same thing and liberals are going a bit nutty over what I call a "non-issue". Good thing Sarah Palin wrote "Hi Mom" on her hand just to give those guys a good ribbing. At least Sarah Palin knows how to pronounce "corpsman" in honor of those who has served and are serving in the military with or without a teleprompter's help. Saying "corpse man" twice isn't a good sign of an eloquent orator.

National Tea Party Convention this weekend...the beginning of a new political party?

The first National Tea Party Convention is now taking place this weekend at Nashville, Tennessee. Many conservatives, Republicans, libertarians, patriots, and even few far-right radicals are going to be there, looking forward to participate in a national movement to keep America free from the growing encroachment of big government socialism and progressive statism. Tea Party Nation has more information.

Even though the national Tea Party movement is inspired from the famous Boston Tea Party of 1773, this movement is more than just fighting against the unAmerican agendas of Obama and the Democratic Party, it's about keeping the country true to its national and political heritage, and preventing the United States Constitution from being slowly eroded and destroyed by statist and progressive elements within the government and outside as well. The movement could be setting itself to become a new political party of the future, despite the movement's birth pangs so far.

Just like the Republican Party went through its birth pangs in 1850s - a coalition of Whigs, Northern Democrats, free soil radicals, abolitionists, free market advocates, and free speech activists, all struggling to form into an opposing political force against the powerful Democratic machine that ruled America. At that time, the country was largely driven by agrarian-based and slave-based economies. How times have changed, at great costs, since then.

The way I see from this Tea Party movement as becoming a thorn to the Democrats and a hook to the Republicans. I think the real goal of the national Tea Party movement is to demonstrate before America and the world that neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party has a monopoly in the U.S. Congress, the government and the whole country. Frankly, it could become a third political party, as a counterweight to both the Democrats and the Republicans in Congress. Many Americans involved in the Tea Party movement are actually more disillusioned with the Republican Party and more dismayed by the Democratic Party. Both parties, they feel, are doing enough damages to the country and to the US Constitution. It has to stop anyway. The Republicans are now acting and treading themselves carefully so far, as they're still a target of the Tea Party's ire. The Democrats are not even safe from them and the Democratic losses of the last few elections forced Obama to change tactics.

As the Republican Party looked up to the Whig Representative from Illinois, Abraham Lincoln, during its formative years, is the national Tea Party movement looking up to Sarah Palin to lead while she could piggyback the Republican Party in 2012 Presidential election? I don't know and I cannot just see Sarah Palin as the female version of Abraham Lincoln. Not even close, but she does have a lot of populist appeals and is certainly popular to many Americans. Some conservatives are not comfortable about her political-wise but they're willing to give her the benefit of doubt. She is to speak at the closing night of the Tea Party convention. Whatever she will speak about is the golden opportunity for the national Tea Party movement to catapult itself as the newest powerful political force in America.

We'll see how history is being made.

I want Obama to fail.....

That is I want to see Obama's policy to fail because it's a recipe for a financial disaster by bankrupting America. But when it comes to polls nothing beat the bellweather of all polls, the Obama Store.

Here's the Obama Store in the middle of Washington D.C. at the famed Union Station that sold merchandise of everything Obama - related.

This time last year, the Obama Store was teeming with customers. Ideally situated in the basement of Washington’s Union Station, the store was filled with consumers eager to buy anything with Obama’s likeness while others took pictures of the life-size cut-outs of the president and first lady. Now, the Obama Store is boarded up.

How quickly things change in a year.

Regardless, the store was ideally situated to make big profits. Not only was it in the District of Columbia, where Obama won 93 percent of the vote, but Union Station is swarmed by the most wallet-opening demographic of them all—tourists!

In one short year the Obama Store flamed out. Maybe an Obama Chia Pet is the only thing left that's sellable? I don't think even a wayward tourist would even touch that one.

Scott Brown sworn in Senate as Massachusetts Senator, liberals fuming...

It's official. Republican Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts was sworn in earlier today by vice president Biden had liberals fuming mad at Democrats for "allowing" the swearing in to take place sooner rather than later.

But the recriminations over granting Brown an early start date are already flying. Becker's nomination to the head of the NLRB was supposed to be considered while Democrats still had 60 votes. Party leadership had planned to hold a confirmation vote this week, multiple sources tell the Huffington Post.

But a series of delays, engineered primarily by Sen. John McCain (R-Ari.), pushed consideration back. And as things stand now, a full Senate vote on Becker will not take place before Brown is granted a vote -- leaving the nomination either completely dead or in deep peril.

"Democrats were outmaneuvered yet again," emailed a labor source who was granted anonymity to speak freely. "I'm used to us caving, but they didn't even [try to delay Brown's seating]. They just hit the mat.

"I love how we cave to the seat their senator. I mean forget the analogy of one is playing checkers and the other playing chess. It's like one is playing chess while the other is sitting there picking their nose."

How dare that soon-to-be Senator Scott Brown get sworn in so soon....how dare they!! Oh, btw, Senator Scott Brown will be the 41st vote against the health care bill ruining Democrats' super-majority seat of 60 required to pass contentious votes.

So did Lech Walesa, former president of Poland who saw President Ronald Reagan a dear friend who helped Poland escape from the grips of communism.

I decided to use this neat and informational website where it uses the Flesch-Kincaid grade level and Gunning-Fog Index to determine readability of texts such as Obama's recent SOTU address text whose transcript can be found at the White House website.

The process is simple. Enter the URL address that contain the text and see what scores come up based on the different formulation used. Professional editors often use readability formulas to gauge how well writers are meeting an audience's reading levels, and one of the most famous of readability formulas is Gunning's Fog Index.

The premise here is that the bigger the words are used along with their more complex sentences, the more difficult those text are to read for average readers. The higher the score, the more complex it becomes regarding the use of the English language and structure. The lower the score, the more simplistic it becomes in the use of the English language and structure. Note the differences between comic book and Atlantic Monthly. The Gunning-Fog Index is a proven method of analyzing written material to see how easy it is to read and understand.

The Flesch-Kincaid grade result for Obama's SOTU on January 27, 2010 is a grade level of 6.27. Like the Gunning-Fog index, it is a rough measure of how many years of schooling it would take someone to understand the content.

The Gunning Fog Index result came out to be 9.56 which has a reading level that of a popular novel.

I've used this readability website before in my other blog to gauge readibility and grade levels reading comprehension of deaf/hh blogs a few years back that showed some rather interesting results, not to mention a few outcries by those who scored low.

But in my analysis is a bit inaccurate since the process uses all of what is available in the link I submitted for analysis rather than only the transcript itself. Somebody actually did use the transcript only to measure the readability and grade level of Obama's SOTU's transcript and found that the "text of Obama's Address has a readability score for an average 8th grader - two grades lower than George W. Bush's Addresses and the historical average for modern presidents."

Republican Brown Sets for Historic Victory in Massachusetts

UPDATE (10:30 pm, 1.19.2010): Republican Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate seat!

Today is the special election day for the people of Massachusetts and only one person will win the Senate seat long held by Edward Kennedy, a Democrat, who died last year. Three candidates are vying for the seat: Republican Scott Brown, Democrat Martha Coakley, and Libertarian Joseph Kennedy (no relation to the late Kennedy). Polls indicated that Brown is leading over Coakley. It is the hope of the Republicans that Brown wins the historic election and become the first Republican to become a Senator of Massachusetts since Henry Cabot Lodge Jr.

A Brown victory would be a game-changer: it would eliminate 60-votes supermajority in the U.S. Senate that Obama long coveted to get the Democrats' unconstitutional health care reform legislation passed. And it would set the tone of the mid-term election season this year, in this hostile political atmosphere toward the feckless Democrats in Congress, possibly leading to a Republican victory by November, barring any geopolitical or national disaster.

So far, Martha Coakley is making many missteps and gaffes in her campaign that some Democrats are privately grumbling that it is all a lost cause. Her biggest gaffe, most recently, was calling Curt Shilling, the former Red Sox pitcher who helped the Boston Red Sox break the curse by winning the World Series, a Yankee fan. Worse, this woman is so delusional that she believed the Kennedy seat is rightfully hers by the virtue of being a Massachusetts Democrat, whether she wins or loses the election. Blogger Paul Mirengoff of Powerline highlighted Coakley's career missteps (including the most egregious case of Coakley's persecution of the Amirault family while as a prosecutor).

We will find out the tonight's results of the Massachusetts' special election. Hopefully it would be a historic victory for Scott Brown and end the unconstitutional and feckless nightmare that Obama and the Democrats wanted to impose upon America.

Define Islamism

What do you perceive Islamic to be? A genuine religion protected under the first amendment? Just a cult? Nightmare for the liberals?

Fortunately for ~~"cults"~~ ~~phony~~ religions, yes. Rob L. Hubbard once said "The way to make a million dollars is to start a religion." That was before he created Scientology and the rest is history.

Oh, that was cute! Might be a corrupted man but definitely a good business man. On other hand, there is another religion with strong cult behaviors and beliefs - yep the Islam. Read a great article by David Warren on Islamism:

There are other cults in Islam, as in Christianity, as in Hinduism and all major religions — each bearing some relation to the religion itself. “By their fruits ye will know them,” as the Founder of my own Church explained.
All such cults have living force, so long as they reside within living people. But I would maintain, further, that they survive, as legacy, long after the last true believer has died. Habits of mind, forged in religious experience — whether orthodox or heretical is not the issue here — pass down to subsequent generations.

Islam is known to advocate murdering others and self for the glory of Allah. In non-sense thinking, Islam is considered a death cult by another author. This author gave her thought:

And finally it occurred to me: There’s no money to be made from Islam on a large scale, so why should we care? The example that came to mind was Vioxx, the arthritis drug that was pulled from the market about a decade ago over an increased risk of death. People began suing Merck over heart attacks and wrongful deaths. Merck stood to lose huge amounts of money for the liability, so they pulled the drug, despite the fact that it did a world of good in a majority of patients.
We can’t sue “Islam”. It isn’t a company, it doesn’t have a financial structure or a central figurehead (unless we want to go after the House of Saud, which we apparently don’t). Islam can’t be taken off the market to keep the P&L balanced. The FDA can’t hold hearings about it. No one stands to gain or lose financially whether Islam stays or goes.
Hundreds of thousands of people (a very conservative estimate) around the world have been murdered in the name of Islamic ideology, but we still haven’t busted it up for the death cult that it is. There are no assets to be seized, so governments merely shrug and let Islam keep the moniker of “religion” instead of stating what it really is: A death cult.
More people have been killed by Islam today than were killed by Vioxx in the entire time it was on the market. Won’t someone please pull Islam from the shelves?

Don't get it why some people (labeling themselves as multicultural) are ignoring Islam's treatments towards the general population. ~~Have the universities indoctrinated them again??~~ Have they not learned the history including 9/11 incident, many bombing attempts and the Islam declaring war on us? If USA is governed entirely by the left, Islam will govern us then since the people on the left are again naive!
It's funny France (liberals, indeed) bothered to take the Scientology to the court yet has not done anything about ~~another cult doing much more harm to the society~~ Islam.

Happy New Year and Global Cooling?

Happy New Year! Will 2010 be as interesting as 2009? You betcha! You'll have to be patience with that one there.

Global warming and the disappearing Arctic sea ice? Now, if you're clueless deaf friends are using the "disappearing" sea ice of the North Pole as "proof" that increasing CO2 introduced by humanity has caused Earth to "unnaturally" warm up causing ice to "disappear" in the North Pole then here are a few things to debunk that silly, silly notion. Including the notion that the opening of the Northwest Passage in 2007 was the first time it happened. Not quite my friends.

It was "ice free" in the early 1900s. Roald Amundsen back in 1903 made his ice-free trip in the late summer month using his 70 foot long wooden fishing boat during his three year trip to find the "holy grail" Northwest Passage. That passage was ice free then when he discovered the route.

It was "ice free" in the Northwest Passage in the early 1940s

St. Roch had serviced RCMP posts and Inuit settlements in the western Arctic since 1928, but it is for her epic voyages through the Northwest Passage from west to east between 1940 and 1942, and the return voyage in 1944....

It was "ice free" in the late 1960s when in 1969 a commercial ship called the "S. S. Manhattan" became the first commercial ship to negotiate the Northwest Passage to Alaska. This was covered in a 1969 Time magazine. The S.S. Manhattan succeeded her navigation of the Northwest Passage and makes shipping history seen in this 1969 newspaper clipping.

The ice opened up many times before in the Northwest Passage and the 2007 "ice free" moment was not the first time in history to have seen this as explained in a 1969 Time magazine at a time free of any idea of global warming influence.

For nearly five centuries, merchants and mariners have dreamed of opening a commercial sea lane across the top of Canada and Alaska. Venetian Explorer John Cabot, in search of a short trade route to the Orient, made the first unsuccessful attempt to sail through the frozen Arctic Ocean in 1498. Dozens of others—French, English and Portuguese—followed in his wake, but it was not until Norwegian Roald Amundsen piloted the small yacht Gjoa through the ice-choked waterway in 1906 that the Northwest Passage was finally discovered. Since then, only six vessels have completed the treacherous voyage, and the passage remains unused by the world's commerce.

That is prior to 1969 in this 1969 Time magazine that only six vessels actually navigated completely the fully length of the Northwest Passage to reach Alaska (or from Alaska to the east).

And recently in 2007 did global warming apologists used this example of an "ice free" Northwest Passage where it recorded the least amount of sea ice extent in its 30 year history of satellite observation. But the problem is that in 2008 and 2009 we have seen gaining sea ice extent during its lowest minima extent. You can see the difference in my graph (source) below where the melting rate has gotten less with each year since 2007. It'll be interesting to see the sea ice extent this year 2010 by mid-September.

From Earth Observatory it describes the Northwest Passage in late August 2009 where they noticed that it wasn't clear whether it was clearly open as it did in 2007 but certainly more ice in 2009 in that area than 2007. Look at that particular satellite photo in the link below for late August and you'll see that some of the Northwest Passage (the preferred shipping route) isn't completely open and that to the west is all ice blocking the route to Alaska.

In late August 2009, ice clogged some but not all of the Northwest Passage, and snow had retreated from most of the islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite caught this rare cloud-free view of the archipelago on August 27, 2009. Although Parry Channel appears partially ice free, especially in the east, sea ice spans most of McClure Strait, blocking the northern, or preferred, route through the Northwest Passage.

Earth Observatory also makes a historical footnote on past shipping attempts through the preferred Northwest Passage shipping route:

The northern, or preferred, route through the Northwest Passage has been navigable a few times, and it appeared wide open in satellite imagery in 2007. The route that Amundsen followed has opened periodically since the turn of the twenty-first century.

Not that is was open but it *appeared" open from outer space. It certainly wasn't that completely open in 2009 seeing that the western end was blocked with ice. It's a safe bet that the Northwest Passage isn't all that reliable of a shipping route despite the 2007 year record sea ice extent minima.

What's in the store for 2010?

I'm willing to bet that in 2010 August/Sept it won't be open for ships to use. If the Mayon volcano erupt or any other volcano for that matter with enough ash, sulfur, particulates into the air this year then expect a cooler year and winter in 2010 and maybe even into 2011 exactly like when Mt Pinatubo erupted causing global cooling for 2 years.

So, if your clueless deaf/hh friends spout the arctic sea ice nonsense be sure to show them the past shipping history since 1906 when ships did indeed navigate the "ice free" Northwest Passage several times since then. And maybe they'll learn something for a change instead of being the zombies they are.

Permanent Eradication of American Jobs?

According to Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor under the Clinton administration, warned that there would be no new American jobs in the future and that Americans would have to settle for jobs with less wages and little or zero benefits. Here's his quote from this site:

The basic assumption that jobs will eventually return when the economy recovers is probably wrong. Some jobs will come back, of course. But the reality that no one wants to talk about is a structural change in the economy that's been going on for years but which the Great Recession has dramatically accelerated.

Under the pressure of this awful recession, many companies have found ways to cut their payrolls for good. They've discovered that new software and computer technologies have made workers in Asia and Latin America just about as productive as Americans, and that the Internet allows far more work to be efficiently outsourced abroad.

This means many Americans won't be rehired unless they're willing to settle for much lower wages and benefits. Today's official unemployment numbers hide the extent to which Americans are already on this path. Among those with jobs, a large and growing number have had to accept lower pay as a condition for keeping them. Or they've lost higher-paying jobs and are now in a new ones that pays less.

Yet reducing unemployment by cutting wages merely exchanges one problem for another. We'll get jobs back but have more people working for pay they consider inadequate, more working families at or near poverty, and widening inequality. The nation will also have a harder time restarting the economy because so many more Americans lack the money they need to buy all the goods and services the economy can produce.

Well, this may seem uneasy to some of you, especially those who are unemployed and worried about the future. Reich is only projecting the possibilities, in the light of Obama's efforts to restart the U.S. economy and the companies' efforts to recoup its losses and restructure its businesses so to prepare for the new economic reality on the global economy's terms. Which mean that Americans may have to compete against everyone else in the world for the kind of jobs long held in abundance in the U.S. for years (many long-term, good-paying jobs that were outsourced to another countries in the last 3 decades).

He also warned of this from a HuffPo article he wrote, noting that without substantial investments in the U.S. economy:

Without these sorts of productivity-enhancing investments, a steadily increasing number of Americans will be priced out of competition in world economy. More and more Americans will face a Hobson's choice of no job or a job with lousy wages. It's already happening.

Reich has his own blog. Moreover, if Obama have invite corporate business leaders and Republicans to his job summit last week, his job initiatives might have a good shot of re-starting the U.S. economy. Instead, he invited to the job summit mostly union executives and academics that donated heavily to the Obama campaign in 2008. Talk about heavy-handed political favors benefitting Obama's misguided job initiatives.

All the more reasons to consider that Obama is less interested in re-starting the U.S. economy and more interesting in heeding and feting political supporters who largely favored greater government roles in planning, managing and directing the U.S. economy, of which Reich is clearly in that corner. He knows that Americans would have to settle for less wages and little or zero benefits so as long as the federal government is on the top of everything and that's not a good thing for all of us.

It is important that you should know exactly what the Democrats, Reich, and Obama are really up to no good. There should be NO permanent eradication of American jobs.

It Pays To Be a Federal Employee

Every wonder why people were always in a rush to become a federal employee? Always hear that it is because of the great benefits, insurance, etc.? Well, now there is a new reason: exploding salaries that often have no tie-in to actual job performance. Simply find yourself a position in the Transportation Department or Defense Department, and settle in for the ride, according to the analysis done by USA Today.

Gone are the days of the poor, over-worked and under-paid federal employee. In the analysis, it was shown that federal employees making $100,000 or more yearly jumped from 14% to 19% during the first 18 months of the recession. Even more galling, is that these numbers will only grow, due to rules first enacted during the Bush administration and continued during the Obama administration. For example, at the beginning of the recession, the Transportation Department had ONE employee making $170,000 or more, and as of June of 2009, it now has *drum roll please* 1,690 employees making that much or more! Pitiful! This has pushed the average federal pay to $71,206 per year versus a private sector average of $40,331.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for employees who truly EARN their way into these types of salaries, with justifiable and quantifiable results. But these increases kicked in because of technical rules. And they all occurred during the recession, a time in which 7.3 million Americans have lost their jobs. The big government era is rising again, and it is being carried on the backs of the hard-working, tax-paying men and women of the United States who are still fortunate to be employed. From Congress granting itself pay raises, even in the most trying of times for the very Americans they are elected to serve, to Presidential Administrations foisting their ideas of bigger government that exists only to profiteer themselves and ensure dependency on a welfare state (a proven Democratic tactic, see my blog piece about the "New New Deal program"), our government has become bloated on the excesses of self-serving politicians and policies.

A return to SOUND fiscal policy, rooted in true conservatism, is needed. You can read the USA Today article at:

When Global Warming is a Farce

Just to remind everybody on just how bad this global warming farce has been thinking all this extra CO2 concentration in our atmosphere is causing Earth to warm which is laughable. We go to "What's up with that?" website where J. Storrs Hall had some interesting graphs made from NOAA ice core data from Greenland (and Antarctica) that simply stops cold the greatest hoax ever perpetuated against people around the world.

I took the liberty of using the graph results and lined them up just to see the differences in scale over time in a much better light since scale is everything when you look at a broader picture here.

Now, the first graph at the top you will notice the increase in temperature after 1900? you noticed our little upward warming blip much less than 1 degree Celsius it doesn't hardly even show up as we go back in time with the last one with Antarctic ice core results to compare with.

Now, you know why people need to stop Congress members' intent on passing the Cap and Trade bill and the EPA nonsense conclusion that CO2 is a pollutant, the very stuff of life where plants use it to thrive and grow. We exhale CO2 all the time. And we get loonies in the White House and the EPA who want to control CO2? Laughable. We're lucky to be in this prolonged warming period of over 10,000 years.

When Liberals Advocate Violence against Citizens

Could this be a trend to come? Why is Montie encouraging violence such as rooting for Jeremy Olson in his attempt to hit Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska who is now a citizen, with tomatoes?

A man was arrested for throwing tomatoes at Sarah Palin during her book signing on Monday at the Mall of America.

Jeremy Olson, 33, allegedly threw two tomatoes from the second balcony, however did not come close to hitting Palin.

Bloomington Police report that Bloomington Commander Mark Stehlik was struck in the face with one of the tomatoes and may face charges for assaulting a police officer. Olson was booked at the Bloomington jail. He was arrested for suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.

Maybe in the spirit that Montie showed should I wish Jeremy Olson get a nice and overly friendly cell mate named Bubba Lou who has a thing for showers and a bar of soap, which I'm sure Montie will rooting for, too? There is no justification for physically attacking Palin. None.

New "New Deal" Job Program Coming?

Say it aint so... Paul Krugman has an Op-Ed piece out in which he advocates for a new Federal Jobs Program similar to the Works Progress Administration (WPA) initiated in the 30's under President Roosevelt. To quote, he says "It's time for at least a small-scale version of the New Deal's Works Progress Administration, one that would offer relatively low-paying public-service employment." Just what we need, another entitlement program that would do nothing but create a deeper dependency on big government and an even bigger welfare state. Don't think it is being considered? It most certainly will be, as Mr. Krugman is one of the advisors for the President's upcoming Jobs Summit. And it is a HORRIBLE idea, frankly. Many weak-minded people with no sense of responsibility to research history and gather facts will be overly enthusiastic, jumping for joy at the prospects of a supposedly tangible, immediate impact on the unemployment rate. Creating such an immediate impact on the national unemployment figures would be nigh near impossible due to the length of time it would take to create this program, draft and enact legislation, garner support in the House and Senate, etc.

If President Obama and his cadre of liberal cronies in Washington enact something like this, there will be an even more stark parallel to draw between his administration and that of President Roosevelt's.... That of a new type of "gerrymandering" that would effectively become nothing but a tool by which to buy votes and attempt to ensure re-election, and create a larger dependecy on the government. It happened in the New Deal, and it will happen here, too. As a matter of fact, the administrator (Harry Hopkins) of the WPA is quoted as saying "We shall tax and tax, spend and spend, and elect and elect" in 1938. Not too hard to see what his goals were, huh?

One of the biggest failings of Roosevelt's well-intended (isn't the road to hell paved with good intentions?), but ultimately flawed program, was that it created a situation where there was a disincentive to get off the government dole. In effect, the front door was big enough for people to go through (easy to get welfare), but the back door (the way off of welfare) was so narrow, few wanted to make the effort to get better paying jobs when they had simply come to view the federal government as their savior and milk cow. So the ranks of the welfare state grew more and more swollen, to the point where it is near unsustainable today.

We DO need more jobs, for everyone. But this form of Keynesian-style policy is not the answer, and never will be. While government has a role in our lives, it must be limited in scope, and have a true checks and balances system in place to deter, detect, and prevent fraud and other abuses. Free-market capitalism is the answer, not Keynesian/socialist practices. This America was built upon the backs of the hard-working dreams and big ideas of people who came here first and foremost for religious freedom, but secondly to escape heavy-handed government involvement in their lives that attempted to control every aspect of their lives. They were, in effect, all conservatives, focused on the same simple goals that are at the banner of this blog.

Stop the insanity..... PLEASE. We need a return to fiscal responsibility in Washington and state-houses all across the land, and we need to return to those days of self-sufficiency, ambition, and drive to better oneself, not kick back and ride on the backs of those paying their taxes to support the bloated welfare state.

Forecast on Government Health Care Reform: Another Failure

Past week, the Health Care Reform Bill has moved to Senate Floor for debate this week. It's ongoing and the outcome is uncertain.

If there's anything worse than a private-sector monopoly, it's a government-run monopoly. The difference is that in the private sector, everyone is free to compete and remove the monopolist's monopoly status, while a government monopoly forbids competition and compels the citizenry to patronize its operation. It is still illegal, for example, to start a business competing with the United States Postal Service, as 19th-century American individualist and entrepreneur Lysander Spooner learned.

The significant differences between the profits (private business) and bureaucracy are obvious. The private businesses seek to gain profits and prosper by putting the customers first while the bureaucracy does things half-assed knowing the customers cannot take his/her business elsewhere.

It is ridiculous the socialists especially Obama and Pelosi think this bill is great for America, leave alone the known facts that the government enterprises fail. This Health Care Reform bill comes with a tag of 2.5 trillion dollars! Let's look at existing Government monopolies and how they fare:

U.S. Post Service is losing money every year, bleeding our tax money and surviving mostly on circulating junk mails. Obsolete! Bankrupt like there's no tomorrow!
Amtrak? Bankrupt! Surviving on our tax money annually and deepening the debts..
Social Security? Bankrupt and the government is flooding the vault with IOU notes. The minimum age qualified to receive Social Security income has been bumped higher and higher.
Utilities? Customers like me have no choice of the utilities. They are dissatisfied for numerous reasons such as a city new code not allowing to water the lawn. Another half-assed company. For these government monopolies, they do not strive to improve services and products.

Oh, the government especially the liberals thinks we are incompetent to take care of ourselves. It's no surprise there are 2 known traits found among the liberals: being naive and being narcissistic. These liberals believe this bill aids the poor and elders the most. In long run, this bill harms everyone including the poor and the elders.

The mammogram exam is very important to screen for anomaly of breast tissues which could be cancerous. Most private insurances cover this exam for any age. The usual recommendation for this exam is 40, or younger for those with the family history of breast cancer. This bill calls for the mammogram exam to be performed beginning at age 50 by the panel. What is so funny about this is that panel is under the federal government.

A federal medical panel's recommendation that women can now wait until age 50 to get a routine mammogram instead of age 40 is stirring up strong debate. The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 81% of adults disagree with the panel's recommendation.

It is a classic example of liberal hypocrisy of being an advocate for all minorities (which is fundamentally impossible). Makes sense that 81% of the people are against it.

And now the bill might come with the coverage on abortion costs. Wake up! Abortion is controversial and in most cases unnecessary. Why cannot this bill also cover plastic surgery? Actually I would go with providing mental health rehabilitation for the liberals... and maybe several massage sessions for myself..

What about the poor people? They are already qualified for Medicaid as pointed by Thomas Sowell:

As with so many government programs, "the poor" are used as a political justification for imposing government-controlled medical care on everyone. But "The Top Ten Myths of American Medical Care" shows what a fraud that is. First of all, the average uninsured American has above-average income -- and people living in poverty are already eligible for Medicaid.

There are of course some serious problems with Medicaid, as there is with government medical treatment at Veterans Administration hospitals and with Medicare. But such things only highlight the dangers of having the government take over the rest of the medical sector, given its dangerous failures where it is already involved in medical matters.

The lure of something for nothing may be seductive when you are in good health. But it can become a bitter irony when you are waiting months for surgery to relieve your pain or when your life hangs in the balance while some bureaucrat decides whether you can get the best medication or something older and cheaper.

If the poor managed Medicaid isn't broken, don't make it worse. With liberals in charge, this nation's qualified health care and wealth are nose-diving. In the meanwhile, most doctors are against this reform and would consider not continuing their medical practice.

An interesting revelation here?

One reason Obama may have maintained support among blacks is their overwhelming affiliation with the Democratic Party. This is not a sufficient explanation, though, because Obama’s approval rating has dropped among Democrats even as it has held steady among blacks.

In fact, it appears as though Obama’s relatively small loss in support among Democrats has come exclusively from white Democrats. In late January/early February, Obama averaged 87% approval among white Democrats and 90% approval among nonwhite Democrats. Now, his approval rating among white Democrats is 76%, down 11 points, but is essentially the same (if not a little higher) at 92% among nonwhite Democrats.

Interesting. Exit question - are white Democrats racist in this regard? Since, according to Obama supporters, if you didn't vote for Obama means you must/might be racist. Right? So, conversely if one abandons him in the process would make him/her a racist according to logic coming from liberals. Right? Er, right folks? Hello, McFly?

Throughout the Obama campaign in 2008 and into his presidency liberals have used racism as their choice of weapon against those who would oppose or disagree Obama's opinions and policies. Instead of agreeing to disagree they would lob charges of "racism" instead. This has been quite apparent from day one seeing that liberals do have these hang-ups about racism and aren't afraid of using it to their benefit in such a dishonest manner.

Largely because he’s a black Republican.

Hip Hoppin' Over Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" Book

Over at Hip Hop Republican Leette Eaton-White writes a good article about Sarah Palin's new book, "Going Rogue."

She repeats her political views throughout her story with relevant consistency. She also talks McCain, the Campaign and the staffers who went from helpful to her to hurting the campaign within a matter of weeks. The book has a surprising free flowing and natural eloquence that most would not expect of Sarah and clarity that makes you feel as though you were watching the events described unfold. Bottom line: It’s worth the read no matter what, if you like Sarah even a little bit, it’s worth the buy.

Later on in a response to a commenter Leette responds:

...if you take the time to read the book you will see the logic put behind her politics. It solid, non-intrusive, constitution based public service she has in mind as a political servant. This illusion of bible thumping “hard right” is something worked up by liberals as a way to scare people away from seeing the core benefits in consistent conservative leadership. I strongly suggest you read the book and take time to watch her interview with Bill O’Reilly where he asks her policy based questions instead of fluff questions. She is very clear on her approach which I have heard from some people who identify as centrist, that they now believe she is ready to lead as POTUS.

Indeed. And that's coming from a black/African American conservative leaning blogsite with over 400 members to boot.....so far.

Are the Democrats Setting Up a Cloward-Piven Government?

Are Obama and the Democrats setting up the Cloward-Piven initiatives to increase the opportunities for an absolute government control to remake the United States of America into something that it was never designed for? All signs are pointing to it and I find that quite worrisome.

It should be clear to anyone with a mind and two eyes that this president and this Congress do not have our interests at heart. They are implementing this strategy on an unprecedented scale by flooding America with a tidal wave of poisonous initiatives, orders, regulations, and laws. The real goal of "health care" legislation, the real goal of "cap-and-trade," and the real goal of the "stimulus" is to rip the guts out of our private economy and transfer wide swaths of it over to the government to control. Do not be deluded by the propaganda. These initiatives are vehicles for change. They are not goals in and of themselves except in their ability to deliver power. They and will make matters much worse, for that is their design.

This time, in addition to overwhelming the government with demands for services, Obama and the Democrats are overwhelming political opposition to their plans with a flood of apocalyptic legislation. Their ultimate goal is to leave us so discouraged, demoralized, and exhausted that we throw our hands up in defeat. As Barney Frank said, "the middle class will be too distracted to fight.

"These people are our enemies. They don't use guns, yet, but they are just as dangerous, determined, and duplicitous as the communists we faced in the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, and bush wars across the globe, and the Nazis we faced in World War II.

It is time we fully internalized and digested this fact, with all its ugly ramifications.

As this popular Chinese saying (more like a curse) goes, "May we live in interesting times,".

Obama never-ending downward spiral

If you haven't looked at your latest polls from several sources such as Gallup (48%), Rassmussen (48%), Quinnipiac (48%), and Foxnews (46%) all show a dangerous downward trend for Obama going below the magical 50% line with Gallup falling below 50% for the first time. A virtual event horizon boundary for Obama. It'll be a matter of time til other polling sources will see their polls dip below 50% as well. All this keeps pointing to a more likelihood of a Democrat unprecedented disaster for the 2010 Congressional seats election if Obama, Pelosi, and Reid keep pushing these unpopular bills, increasing taxes and more federal government control over private enterprises and people's lives which will undoubtedly upset the independent voters even more. They're the ones who helped ushered in two Republican candidates to the governorship seats in Virginia and New Jersey.

And that make Democrats very, very nervous.

And the Hoffman race? Even if Owen finally but officially wins the race by a few mere thousand votes the NY23 District office seat is good for only a year with the purpose to replace a vacant seat. Much of the votes were lost to Scozzafava, a RINO, who dropped out late in the election but managed to collect several thousand votes that could've gone to Hoffman had he been endorsed by the GOP at much earlier time. Hoffman, too, see that the 2010 congressional election will be a boon to conservative candidates, including Hoffman who will get the GOP nod for the 2010 Congressional seat at the earliest possible date after the GOP learned a valuable lesson about conservatism and the need for conservative candidates. The Hoffman-Own race proved clearly that conservatism is alive and well and is on the march. Thanks to Obama continuing bungling of the economy and far left liberal agenda pushing literally everybody's button nowdays, including Democrats.

Obama's Deep Scraping Bow to Emperor Akihito

As people should know is that American Presidents do not bow to monarchs whether they have constitional power or not over the last 220 years while our American Presidents served as the US head of state. Even the New York Times knew better than that in 1994 who chastised President Clinton for an almost doing a bow that got caught on camera. And yet one would think that President Obama learned his lesson for bowing to a Saudi King not too long ago and got some flack for it of which the WH denied that he wasn't bowing.

Laughable.

According to some Japanese expert on the bowing incident the bow made United States look weak according to Mr. Tapper of ABCnews.

“Obama’s handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bush’s back-rub of Merkel.

“Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first year English teacher trying to impress with Karate Kid-level knowledge of Japanese customs.

“The bow as he performed did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms….The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part.

It won't be much longer until we know whether conservative Doug Hoffman for the NY23 congressional district will win or not but according to latest polls he's well enough ahead to make a difference after the Scozzafava fiasco turncoat event by exposing herself to be more the liberal democrat she is than a republican. But we may be witnessing a "Hoffman Effect" where conviction in conservative beliefs is the underpinning reason why people are fed up with irresponsible spending and bigger government by voting for Doug Hoffman and other conservative candidates elsewhere today. Is this a start for voters to realize what's going on in this country and vote for conservative republicans to make their conservative statement for the upcoming 2010 election? We'll see.

Cheney is Right, Obama is Wrong

There were two major speeches reported today - one by ex-Vice President Cheney and one by President Obama, in these FoxNews and Politico articles.

They spoke out about the Bush policies - one condemning it, the other justifying it, specifically on the enhanced interrogation on suspected al Qaeda terrorists. The two differed on the methods and efforts behind them:

Cheney: "They were legal, essential, justified, successful, and the right thing to do. The intelligence officers who questioned the terrorists can be proud of their work and proud of the results, because they prevented the violent death of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of innocent people."

Obama: "Decisions that were made over the last eight years established an ad hoc legal approach for fighting terrorism that was neither effective nor sustainable – a framework that failed to rely on our legal traditions and time-tested institutions; that failed to use our values as a compass,"

Sorry, Obama, but I disagree. Islamic terrorists do not care about our legal traditions and time-tested institutions nor do they recognize our values, they would seek to undermine and destroy them in any way they can. In their own world, only Islamic sharia laws can replace them. That's where I draw the line on that.

Cheney is absolutely right and the man truly know what he's talking about. Joltin' Joe Biden, he ain't. Not by a long stretch.

Bush's "enhanced" methods prevented a second 9/11 for the last 8 years. If we would to go with Obama's policies, a second 9/11 could be highly likely in the near future. Al Qaeda and Islamic terrorists are not giving up with their attempts to out-do the attacks that happened on 9/11/01.

What it took for America to become America - a history lesson for the clueless

Here's a story written by a person known for his oratory skill. That person had a son today who is the most famous radio personality in America. Read the story below and understand what the signers of the Declaration of Independence had to go through so that America be free from tyranny and oppressive government control (sounds familiar?). For those who refused to bow to an oppressive and unforgiving government many were tortured. Many had their families taken away from them. Many saw their families killed off. Just for saying "NO!" to the King in a land far, far away across the vast ocean called the Atlantic Ocean.

"Our Lives, Our Fortunes, Our Sacred Honor"

It was a glorious morning. The sun was shining and the wind was from the southeast. Up especially early, a tall bony, redheaded young Virginian found time to buy a new thermometer, for which he paid three pounds, fifteen shillings. He also bought gloves for Martha, his wife, who was ill at home.

Thomas Jefferson arrived early at the statehouse. The temperature was 72.5 degrees and the horseflies weren't nearly so bad at that hour. It was a lovely room, very large, with gleaming white walls. The chairs were comfortable. Facing the single door were two brass fireplaces, but they would not be used today.

The moment the door was shut, and it was always kept locked, the room became an oven. The tall windows were shut, so that loud quarreling voices could not be heard by passersby. Small openings atop the windows allowed a slight stir of air, and also a large number of horseflies. Jefferson records that "the horseflies were dexterous in finding necks, and the silk of stockings was nothing to them." All discussing was punctuated by the slap of hands on necks.
On the wall at the back, facing the president's desk, was a panoply -- consisting of a drum, swords, and banners seized from Fort Ticonderoga the previous year. Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold had captured the place, shouting that they were taking it "in the name of the Great Jehovah and the Continental Congress!"

Now Congress got to work, promptly taking up an emergency measure about which there was discussion but no dissension. "Resolved: That an application be made to the Committee of Safety of Pennsylvania for a supply of flints for the troops at New York."

Then Congress transformed itself into a committee of the whole. The Declaration of Independence was read aloud once more, and debate resumed. Though Jefferson was the best writer of all of them, he had been somewhat verbose. Congress hacked the excess away. They did a good job, as a side-by-side comparison of the rough draft and the final text shows. They cut the phrase "by a self-assumed power." "Climb" was replaced by "must read," then "must" was eliminated, then the whole sentence, and soon the whole paragraph was cut. Jefferson groaned as they continued what he later called "their depredations." "Inherent and inalienable rights" came out "certain unalienable rights," and to this day no one knows who suggested the elegant change.

A total of 86 alterations were made. Almost 500 words were eliminated, leaving 1,337. At last, after three days of wrangling, the document was put to a vote.

Here in this hall Patrick Henry had once thundered: "I am no longer a Virginian, sir, but an American." But today the loud, sometimes bitter argument stilled, and without fanfare the vote was taken from north to south by colonies, as was the custom. On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted.

There were no trumpets blown. No one stood on his chair and cheered. The afternoon was waning and Congress had no thought of delaying the full calendar of routine business on its hands. For several hours they worked on many other problems before adjourning for the day.

Much To Lose

What kind of men were the 56 signers who adopted the Declaration of Independence and who, by their signing, committed an act of treason against the crown? To each of you, the names Franklin, Adams, Hancock and Jefferson are almost as familiar as household words. Most of us, however, know nothing of the other signers. Who were they? What happened to them?

I imagine that many of you are somewhat surprised at the names not there: George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Patrick Henry. All were elsewhere.

Ben Franklin was the only really old man. Eighteen were under 40; three were in their 20s. Of the 56 almost half - 24 - were judges and lawyers. Eleven were merchants, nine were landowners and farmers, and the remaining 12 were doctors, ministers, and politicians.

With only a few exceptions, such as Samuel Adams of Massachusetts, these were men of substantial property. All but two had families. The vast majority were men of education and standing in their communities. They had economic security as few men had in the 18th Century.

Each had more to lose from revolution than he had to gain by it. John Hancock, one of the richest men in America, already had a price of 500 pounds on his head. He signed in enormous letters so that his Majesty could now read his name without glasses and could now double the reward. Ben Franklin wryly noted: "Indeed we must all hang together, otherwise we shall most assuredly hang separately."

Fat Benjamin Harrison of Virginia told tiny Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts: "With me it will all be over in a minute, but you, you will be dancing on air an hour after I am gone."

These men knew what they risked. The penalty for treason was death by hanging. And remember, a great British fleet was already at anchor in New York Harbor.

They were sober men. There were no dreamy-eyed intellectuals or draft card burners here. They were far from hot-eyed fanatics yammering for an explosion. They simply asked for the status quo. It was change they resisted. It was equality with the mother country they desired. It was taxation with representation they sought. They were all conservatives, yet they rebelled.

It was principle, not property, that had brought these men to Philadelphia. Two of them became presidents of the United States. Seven of them became state governors. One died in office as vice president of the United States. Several would go on to be U.S. Senators. One, the richest man in America, in 1828 founded the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. One, a delegate from Philadelphia, was the only real poet, musician and philosopher of the signers. (It was he, Francis Hopkinson not Betsy Ross who designed the United States flag.)

Richard Henry Lee, a delegate from Virginia, had introduced the resolution to adopt the Declaration of Independence in June of 1776. He was prophetic in his concluding remarks: "Why then sir, why do we longer delay? Why still deliberate? Let this happy day give birth to an American Republic. Let her arise not to devastate and to conquer but to reestablish the reign of peace and law.

"The eyes of Europe are fixed upon us. She demands of us a living example of freedom that may exhibit a contrast in the felicity of the citizen to the ever-increasing tyranny which desolates her polluted shores. She invites us to prepare an asylum where the unhappy may find solace, and the persecuted repost.

"If we are not this day wanting in our duty, the names of the American Legislatures of 1776 will be placed by posterity at the side of all of those whose memory has been and ever will be dear to virtuous men and good citizens."

Though the resolution was formally adopted July 4, it was not until July 8 that two of the states authorized their delegates to sign, and it was not until August 2 that the signers met at Philadelphia to actually put their names to the Declaration.

William Ellery, delegate from Rhode Island, was curious to see the signers' faces as they committed this supreme act of personal courage. He saw some men sign quickly, "but in no face was he able to discern real fear." Stephan Hopkins, Ellery's colleague from Rhode Island, was a man past 60. As he signed with a shaking pen, he declared: "My hand trembles, but my heart does not."

"Most Glorious Service"

Even before the list was published, the British marked down every member of Congress suspected of having put his name to treason. All of them became the objects of vicious manhunts. Some were taken. Some, like Jefferson, had narrow escapes. All who had property or families near British strongholds suffered.

· Francis Lewis, New York delegate saw his home plundered -- and his estates in what is now Harlem -- completely destroyed by British Soldiers. Mrs. Lewis was captured and treated with great brutality. Though she was later exchanged for two British prisoners through the efforts of Congress, she died from the effects of her abuse.

· William Floyd, another New York delegate, was able to escape with his wife and children across Long Island Sound to Connecticut, where they lived as refugees without income for seven years. When they came home they found a devastated ruin.

· Philips Livingstone had all his great holdings in New York confiscated and his family driven out of their home. Livingstone died in 1778 still working in Congress for the cause.

· Louis Morris, the fourth New York delegate, saw all his timber, crops, and livestock taken. For seven years he was barred from his home and family.

· John Hart of Trenton, New Jersey, risked his life to return home to see his dying wife. Hessian soldiers rode after him, and he escaped in the woods. While his wife lay on her deathbed, the soldiers ruined his farm and wrecked his homestead. Hart, 65, slept in caves and woods as he was hunted across the countryside. When at long last, emaciated by hardship, he was able to sneak home, he found his wife had already been buried, and his 13 children taken away. He never saw them again. He died a broken man in 1779, without ever finding his family.

· Dr. John Witherspoon, signer, was president of the College of New Jersey, later called Princeton. The British occupied the town of Princeton, and billeted troops in the college. They trampled and burned the finest college library in the country.

· Judge Richard Stockton, another New Jersey delegate signer, had rushed back to his estate in an effort to evacuate his wife and children. The family found refuge with friends, but a Tory sympathizer betrayed them. Judge Stockton was pulled from bed in the night and brutally beaten by the arresting soldiers. Thrown into a common jail, he was deliberately starved. Congress finally arranged for Stockton's parole, but his health was ruined. The judge was released as an invalid, when he could no longer harm the British cause. He returned home to find his estate looted and did not live to see the triumph of the Revolution. His family was forced to live off charity.

· Robert Morris, merchant prince of Philadelphia, delegate and signer, met Washington's appeals and pleas for money year after year. He made and raised arms and provisions which made it possible for Washington to cross the Delaware at Trenton. In the process he lost 150 ships at sea, bleeding his own fortune and credit almost dry.

· George Clymer, Pennsylvania signer, escaped with his family from their home, but their property was completely destroyed by the British in the Germantown and Brandywine campaigns.

· Dr. Benjamin Rush, also from Pennsylvania, was forced to flee to Maryland. As a heroic surgeon with the army, Rush had several narrow escapes.

· John Martin, a Tory in his views previous to the debate, lived in a strongly loyalist area of Pennsylvania. When he came out for independence, most of his neighbors and even some of his relatives ostracized him. He was a sensitive and troubled man, and many believed this action killed him. When he died in 1777, his last words to his tormentors were: "Tell them that they will live to see the hour when they shall acknowledge it [the signing] to have been the most glorious service that I have ever rendered to my country."

· William Ellery, Rhode Island delegate, saw his property and home burned to the ground.

· Thomas Lynch, Jr., South Carolina delegate, had his health broken from privation and exposures while serving as a company commander in the military. His doctors ordered him to seek a cure in the West Indies and on the voyage, he and his young bride were drowned at sea.

· Edward Rutledge, Arthur Middleton, and Thomas Heyward, Jr., the other three South Carolina signers, were taken by the British in the siege of Charleston. They were carried as prisoners of war to St. Augustine, Florida, where they were singled out for indignities. They were exchanged at the end of the war, the British in the meantime having completely devastated their large landholdings and estates.

· Thomas Nelson, signer of Virginia, was at the front in command of the Virginia military forces. With British General Charles Cornwallis in Yorktown, fire from 70 heavy American guns began to destroy Yorktown piece by piece. Lord Cornwallis and his staff moved their headquarters into Nelson's palatial home. While American cannonballs were making a shambles of the town, the house of Governor Nelson remained untouched. Nelson turned in rage to the American gunners and asked, "Why do you spare my home?" They replied, "Sir, out of respect to you." Nelson cried, "Give me the cannon!" and fired on his magnificent home himself, smashing it to bits. But Nelson's sacrifice was not quite over. He had raised $2 million for the Revolutionary cause by pledging his own estates. When the loans came due, a newer peacetime Congress refused to honor them, and Nelson's property was forfeited. He was never reimbursed. He died, impoverished, a few years later at the age of 50.

Lives, Fortunes, Honor

Of those 56 who signed the Declaration of Independence, nine died of wounds or hardships during the war. Five were captured and imprisoned, in each case with brutal treatment. Several lost wives, sons or entire families. One lost his 13 children. Two wives were brutally treated. All were at one time or another the victims of manhunts and driven from their homes. Twelve signers had their homes completely burned. Seventeen lost everything they owned. Yet not one defected or went back on his pledged word. Their honor, and the nation they sacrificed so much to create is still intact.

And, finally, there is the New Jersey signer, Abraham Clark.

He gave two sons to the officer corps in the Revolutionary Army. They were captured and sent to that infamous British prison hulk afloat in New York Harbor known as the hell ship Jersey, where 11,000 American captives were to die. The younger Clarks were treated with a special brutality because of their father. One was put in solitary and given no food. With the end almost in sight, with the war almost won, no one could have blamed Abraham Clark for acceding to the British request when they offered him his sons' lives if he would recant and come out for the King and Parliament. The utter despair in this man's heart, the anguish in his very soul, must reach out to each one of us down through 200 years with his answer: "No."

The 56 signers of the Declaration Of Independence proved by their every deed that they made no idle boast when they composed the most magnificent curtain line in history. "And for the support of this Declaration with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."

My friends, I know you have a copy of the Declaration of Independence somewhere around the house - in an old history book (newer ones may well omit it), an encyclopedia, or one of those artificially aged "parchments" we all got in school years ago. I suggest that each of you take the time this month to read through the text of the Declaration, one of the most noble and beautiful political documents in human history.

There is no more profound sentence than this: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness..."

These are far more than mere poetic words. The underlying ideas that infuse every sentence of this treatise have sustained this nation for more than two centuries. They were forged in the crucible of great sacrifice. They are living words that spring from and satisfy the deepest cries for liberty in the human spirit.

"Sacred honor" isn't a phrase we use much these days, but every American life is touched by the bounty of this, the Founders' legacy. It is freedom, tested by blood, and watered with tears.

This Tea Party is about everybody who is sick and tired of the government taking our money and spend it with any responsibility nor accountability. Each president from the modern past to now have spent more than what America could afford. Never in the history of economics did we get a president who have spent more money in the first 100 days by spending 5 times as much as the 43rd president of the United States in his first year in office. This protest isn't a Republican party protest. As much as this badly misinformed CNN reporter has shown in her "reporting" this protest is for everybody who is tired of seeing America going deeper and deeper into debt. Why is it so hard for liberals not to see that? It's because many seek the desire for greater and greater control over those who do not agree with them. And wish Democracy instead of a Republic country. Doing so is a simple recipe for disaster.

Today is the day you can attend a Tax Day Tea Bag rally in your city. It is going to be big and nationwide. Patriotic Americans say that the U.S. government has become too big and potentially too dangerous for its own good, that it may become a destructive force, if left unchecked, against the united States of America and the U.S. Constitution. Perhaps inevitably. It is most unfortunate that braindead liberal and media pundits have been attacking and ridiculing Americans' right to a public assembly and to petition for redress for grievances. These patriotic Americans love their country, these media pundits hate their country and freedoms. Today's events will reveal how loyalty and hatred would manifest from both sides.

The most honest, ethical, and open Congress in history? Bwahahahahaa..!

Remember this pledge by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on November 14, 2006:

"Democrats pledge to make this the most honest, ethical, and open Congress in history."

So far, this is has been the most dishonest, unethical, freedom squelching and not very open Congress in history. Everything Nancy said it went the other way. But let's take Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) is the chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee which plays a pivotal role in shaping tax laws. Congress members have sought and continues to call for his removal due to his questionable or unethical abuse of ignoring his own tax laws.

"I owed my colleagues and the public adherence to a higher standard of care not only as a member of Congress but even more as the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee," he said.

But there's more. Watch this video where Hot Air TV special correspondent Jason Mattera catches tax cheat Charlie Rangel and confronts him about his mounting ethical and financial scandals about his shady rental property deals, publicly-subsidized Cadillac, and unpaid taxes. Obama - KO-ed, Boxing Game on Mobile Phone.

And I wonder how long it'll take until Obamaniacs call this mobile phone game a racist one? Or at the very least think it is a "threat"? Hey, where's Don King when you need him? Umm, uh, yeah.

Rush Limbaugh Praises Obama!

Rush Limbaugh spoke today at CPAC last night and brought down the house with numerous standing ovations throughout his speech. It was his best speech ever in his lifetime. I'd say he's the first deaf person to really bring down the house. Hotair has YouTube videos of Rush broken up into 10 separate videos of his speech. Rush Limbaugh's speech was 81 minutes long that was very rousing speech, informative, funny and certainly not dull or boring. Although CSpan had it captioned during the live speech, the YouTube version via Hotair is not. But there is a full transcript of Rush Limbaugh's speech on his website, ever mindful of those who cannot hear or hear well at all and well worth the read which is several pages long.

Yes, yes. It's true. Rush did praise Obama. Here's what he said. And be sure to read the exerpt in its entirety as taken from Rush Limbaugh's website.

Now, let me speak about President Obama for just a second. President Obama is one of the most gifted politicians, one of the most gifted men that I have ever witnessed. He has extraordinary talents. He has communication skills that hardly anyone can surpass. No, seriously. No, no, I'm being very serious about this. It just breaks my heart that he does not use these extraordinary talents and gifts to motivate and inspire the American people to be the best they can be. He's doing just the opposite. And it's a shame. [Applause] President Obama has the ability -- he has the ability to inspire excellence in people's pursuits. He has the ability to do all this, yet he pursues a path, seeks a path that punishes achievement, that punishes earners and punishes -- and he speaks negatively of the country. Ronald Reagan used to speak of a shining city on a hill. Barack Obama portrays America as a soup kitchen in some dark night in a corner of America that's very obscure. He's constantly telling the American people that bad times are ahead, worst times are ahead. And it's troubling, because this is the United States of America. Anybody ever ask -- I'm in awe of our country and I ask this question a lot as I've gotten older. We're less than 300 years old. We are younger than nations that have been on this planet for thousands of years. We, nevertheless, in less than 300 years -- by the way, we're no different than any other human beings around the world. Our DNA is no different. We're not better just because we're born in America. There's nothing that sets us apart. How did this happen? How did the United States of America become the world's lone super power, the world's economic engine, the most prosperous opportunity for an advanced lifestyle that humanity has ever known? How did this happen? And why pray tell does the President of the United States want to destroy it? It saddens me.

Indeed. That's what I've been hearing and reading. It's all the gloom and doom and how the government is the only answer to help bring a nation back to her shining beacon of glory thinking people are unable to do this.

Next, I'll put out so bits and pieces of Rush Limbaugh's speech what I think was interesting and even poignant.

On people and America...

Let me tell you who we conservatives are: We love people. [Applause] When we look out over the United States of America, when we are anywhere, when we see a group of people, such as this or anywhere, we see Americans. We see human beings. We don't see groups. We don't see victims. We don't see people we want to exploit. What we see -- what we see is potential. We do not look out across the country and see the average American, the person that makes this country work. We do not see that person with contempt. We don't think that person doesn't have what it takes. We believe that person can be the best he or she wants to be if certain things are just removed from their path like onerous taxes, regulations and too much government.We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. [Applause] We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life. [Applause] Liberty, Freedom. [Applause] And the pursuit of happiness. [Applause] Those of you watching at home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives think all three are under assault. [Applause] Thank you. Thank you.

On hate and racism....

We don't hate anybody. We don't -- I mean, the racism in this country, if you ask me, I know many people in this audience -- let me deal with this head on. You know what the cliche is, a conservative: racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen of America, if you were paying attention, I know you were, the racism in our culture was exclusively and full on display in the Democrat primary last year. [Applause]

It was not us asking whether Barack Obama was authentic. What we were asking is: Is he wrong? We concluded, yes. We still think so. But we didn't ask if he was authentically black. We didn't say, as some southern Christian leadership conference leaders said: Barack is not authentic, he's not got any slave blood. He's really not down for the struggle, but his wife does. So don't expect the race industry to go away. Southern Christian Leadership Council-- you may not know this, because it wasn't reported in the Drive-By Media -- the racism, the sexism, the bigotry that we're all charged with, just so you across the United States of America know, and you'll see demonstrated here as the afternoon goes on, doesn't exist on our side. We want everybody to succeed. [Applause]

On freedom, ambition, desire....

The freedom we spoke of earlier is the freedom, it's the ambition, it's the desire, the wherewithal, the passions that people have that gave us the great entrepreneurial advances, the great inventions, the greatest food production, the human lifestyle advances in this country, why shouldn't that be rewarded? Why is that now the focus of punishment? Why is that now the focus of blame? Why doesn't -- Mayor Bloomberg the other day, ladies and gentlemen, resisting his Governor's call for an increased tax on the rich in New York had some astounding numbers. Eight million people live in New York. 40,000 of those eight million pay roughly 60 to 70% of New York's operating budget. He was afraid that if he raised taxes on those people some of them might leave. Mayor, one already has, by the way. [Applause] Stop and think of this, though. Stop and think of this. 40,000 people out of eight million. He's right, if 10,000 of them leave, or 5,000, they've got a huge problem. Because New York has its own welfare state inside the one the federal government's created. They've got a dependency class that has grown up and been educated their entitlement is to be fed and taken care of by these evil mean people who have more than they do. If New York City, New York State or Washington, DC were a business, these 40,000 people would be taken on golf tournament trips to Los Angeles, and they would be wined and dined and they would be thanked and they would be encouraged to keep it up. They wouldn't be told they're the problem. They wouldn't be told, except there's -- I pride my accuracy rating. There is one other business where the customer is always wrong and that's the media. Sorry about that. [Applause]

On ACORN and the U.S. Constitution....

Most wealth in this country is the result of entrepreneurial, just plain old hard work. There's no reason to punish it. There's no reason to raise taxes on these people. Barack Obama, the Democrat Party, have one responsibility, and that's to respect the oath they gave to protect, defend and follow the US Constitution. [Applause]

They don't have the right to take money that's not theirs and none of it is from the back pockets of producers and give it to groups like ACORN which are going to advance the Democrat Party. If anybody but government were doing this, it would be a crime. And many of us think it's bordering on that as it exists now. [Applause]

On poverty and wealth...

President Obama is so busy trying to foment and create anger in a created atmosphere of crisis. He is so busy fueling the emotions of class envy that he's forgotten it's not his money that he's spending. [Applause] In fact, the money he's spending is not ours. He's spending wealth that has yet to be created. And that is not sustainable. It will not work. This has been tried around the world. And every time it's been tried it's a failed disaster.

What's the longest war in American history? Did somebody say the war on poverty? Smart group. War on poverty. The war on poverty essentially started in the '30s as part of the New Deal, but it really ramped up in the '60s with Lyndon Johnson, part of the great society war on poverty. We have transferred something like 10 trillion, maybe close to 11 trillion, from producers and earners to nonproducers and earners since 1965. Yet, as I listen to the Democratic Party campaign, why, America is still a soup kitchen, the poor is still poor and they have no hope and they're poor for what reason? They're poor because of us, because we don't care, and because we've gotten rich by taking from them, that's what kids in school are taught today. That's what others have said to the media. You know why they're poor, you know why they remain poor? Because their lives have been destroyed by the never-ending government hay that's designed to help them but it destroys ambition. It destroys the education they might get to learn to be self-fulfilling. [Applause] And it breaks our heart. It breaks our heart. We lose track of numbers with all of the money, with all the money that's been transferred, redistributed, with all the charitable giving in this country.

On Obama on how will he intend to pay back the stimulus package...

George Will once asked Dr. Friedrich Von Hayek, tremendous classical liberal economist, great man. 1975, George Will, Dr. Von Hayek, why is it that intellectuals, supposed smartest people in the room, why is it that intellectuals can look right out their windows, their own homes and cars and look at their universities and not see the bounties and the growth and the greatness of capitalism? And von Hayek said: I've troubled over this for years and I've finally concluded that for intellectuals, pseudo intellectuals, and all liberals, it's about control. It's not about raising revenue. You think Obama has any intention of paying for all this spending? Folks, if he had any intention of paying for it, he wouldn't do 90% of it because we don't have the money. [Applause]

They don't care about paying for it. All that's just words. All that's just rhetoric paying for it because he knows you have to worry about paying for it. He knows we all have to be concerned -- oh, except, wrong again. Except the words of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who were given homes that everybody knew they could never pay for, and now Barney Frank and Chris Dodd the architects along with Bill Clinton of the policy that gave us the whole sub-prime mortgage crisis get to sit around and act as innocent spectators to investigate what went on when they largely had the biggest role in causing it. [Applause]

Congressman Frank's definition of affordable housing is you get a house you don't have to pay for that everybody else in the neighborhood will pay for. Why? Because it's unfair that some people can have a house and some people can't. Geez, it's just unfair. So here we have two systems. We have socialism, collectivism, Stalin, whatever you want to call it, versus capitalism. Admittedly over on the right side capitalism there will be unequal outcomes because we're all different. And some of us care more and have more passion and we know what we want to do and others are still struggling for it. Some people are just going to work harder than others. Okay. You get what you work for. Those who have a genuine inability for whatever reason are taken care of. We're compassionate people. On the left side when you get into this collectivism socialism stuff, these people on the left, the Democrats and liberals today claim that they are pained by the inequities and the inequalities in our society. And they believe that these inequities and inequalities descend from the selfishness and the greed of the achievers. And so they tell the people who are on different income quintiles, whatever lists, they say it's not that you're not working hard enough, you could have what they have, perhaps, if you applied it. They're stealing it from you.

Many liberals and even some Republicans really don't listen to Rush Limbaugh or even bother reading the transcript of his show. Many do not understand nor get it right on what "conservatism" really means (hint: see beneath the Deaf Conservative Republicans title at top of blog page). Many liberals get their myths and mis/disinformation from the mainstream media and zealous bloggers about what or who Limbaugh is all about rather than hear it from Rush Limbaugh's own voice or words. It's even worse in the Deaf community in some cases. Though I ask them this question now. How many well known radio personalities actually provide a daily transcript of their radio shows to those who may be deaf or hard of hearing? Exactly. So, let's get that notion of who or what Rush Limbaugh is and really read or listen to him for a change. And throughout his 81 minute speech, he never needed the use of a teleprompter to help him get through because everything he said came from his heart.

Jindal calls Obama's Plan/Promises "Irresponsible."

Jindal mania! Of course, the man is right. Jindal, that is.

"The way to lead is not to raise taxes and put more money and power in hands of Washington politicians," Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who gave the Republican Party's official response, said in excerpts released early. The massive economic stimulus bill recently enacted by Obama and congressional Democrats, Jindal said, will expand the government, "increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt."

"It's irresponsible," said Jindal, who is eyeing a presidential bid in 2012.

Indeed. Obama is expanding everything and that's with a one year estimated deficit that would be more than Bush's combined 8 years worth of deficit!

Increase troop size (well, maybe that's no so bad).
Universal health care.
Universal education through college.
Increase taxes.
More new programs.
Reward bad behaviors.
More earmarks than ever before...
Yada yada yada..... spend..spend...tax...tax...tax!!

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said this recently Tuesday,

Republicans want to help Obama find "responsible solutions to the challenges facing our nation, but thus far congressional leaders in the president's own party have stood in the way."

How can we help if Obama and others continue to shut out the American public and the Republican Congresss? Reminds me of teens being home alone for the first time while their parents go away do they go about and mess up the house with drunken abandon and glee.

As for Jindal, if you're thinking about supporting Bobby Jindal, go here to his official website and sign up (Facebook, too!). He exhibits true "Reaganesque" qualities. Even Rush Limbaugh said so yesterday.

RUSH: And he's exactly right. This is why when I interviewed Bobby Jindal for the Limbaugh Letter a year and a half ago or so I immediately thought I was talking to the elected version of the next Ronald Reagan, the closest thing we've got to an elected version of the next Ronald Reagan in the United States today.

Indeed. Exactly what the GOP needs.

Jindal goes on about the irresponsibility of the near $800 billion dollar spending package where Chuckie said that each state MUST accept the package in its entirety. But that's not sound fiscal responsility to begin as Jindal explained.

JINDAL: ..... if you actually read the bill there's one problem with that, the word "permanent" is in the bill. It requires the state to make a permanent change in our law. Within three years, the federal money is gone, we've got now a permanent change in our laws, we have to pay for it, our businesses pay for it. I don't think it makes sense to be raising taxes on Louisiana businesses during these economically challenging times. My job is to represent Louisiana's taxpayers. It makes no sense for us to take temporary federal dollars and create permanent state obligations.

It also violates the states' 10th amendment. And that we live in a federal republic...not an oligarchy government thinking Obama is the king. He's not. Human Events has more on the 11 states challenging Obama's mandatory requirement to accept all of the appropriated amount given to each state.

In the first five weeks of his presidency, Barack Obama has acted so rashly that at least 11 states have decided that his brand of “hope” equates to an intolerable expansion of the federal government’s authority over the states. These states -- "Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, [Minnesota]...Georgia," South Carolina, and Texas -- "have all introduced bills and resolutions" reminding Obama that the 10th Amendment protects the rights of the states, which are the rights of the people, by limting the power of the federal government. These resolutions call on Obama to “cease and desist” from his reckless government expansion and also indicate that federal laws and regulations implemented in violation of the 10th Amendment can be nullified by the states.

But good old Chuckie Schumer, he's trying to force and ram this down the throats of each state while trying to effectively hog tie each governor's budgeting and fiscal responsibilities for their people that only they know best...and not the federal government. Doing so violates the state's 10th amendment which is a part of the Constitution known as the “Bill of Rights”.

It'd be well advised that Obama and Chuckie learn about the 10th amendment rather than to pretend they're running an oligarchy government. Deaf liberals who tend to go into an orgasmic thrashing sighs every time they see Obama need to retake Americann Government 101 again if they think Chuckie's right. And wipe that drool of yours, please.

And, as added bonus, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisanna does not need a teleprompter to get the word out.

Gallaudet University College Republicans

Here's a chance to form a new college Republicans group at Gallaudet University.

The College Republican National Committee website just came online a few days ago for those students at Gallaudet University who are thinking about forming a college Republican group.

College Republicans is the nation's oldest, largest, and most active youth political organization. Founded in 1892, there are currently over 200,000 CR's around the country on 1,800+ campuses in every state and DC.

Every year, CR's from all across America come together to help elect Republican candidates, support the Republican agenda, and become the future leaders of the conservative movement. College Republicans are the grassroots arm of the Republican Party - the counterbalanace to the unions and leftist interest groups.

Indeed. A good idea to form one to help provide a counter-balance to the unions and Democrat interest groups. In fact, there is a Democratic Party Chapter for Gallaudet University students who are interested in forming their own political chapter on campus.

The choice is yours. Either you can lead by examples or lead with apathy and cowardice in your hearts.

"I Don't like Curious George....."

The "I don't like Curious George" comment didn't come from me but a two year old boy who said that from a blog piece back in July of 2006. A mother of that boy tells a very funny but quite poignant story about the wisdom seen in her own two year old son.

Sean has always loved books more than anything, and it is hard to find a book that we don’t have. His bookcase runneth over. He stood facing his bookcase wearing baseball pajamas, studying the contents looking for something new and interesting to jump out at him in much the same posture I assume when standing in front of the refrigerator with the same hopes.

He spent quite some time pulling out books and then shoving them back in, unable to make a decision. “How about Curious George?” I finally asked, pulling out several volumes of the familiar yellow books.

“Not Curious George,” he said in a combination of disinterest and digust, waving me off without bothering to turn around. What? Is Curious George now so yesterday and no one told me?

“No? What’s wrong with Curious George?” I asked wondering who doesn’t like Curious George.

“I don’t like him. He bug me.”

“He bugs you? Why does Curious George bug you?”

“He not beedient,” he said matter-of-factly and without hesitation.

“He’s disobedient?”

“Yeah…”

“Really?”
"He not do what he pse to. Bad stuff happens."
I worry about the things that he worries about.

As I left his room after tucking him into bed, I took the Curious George books with me. I sat down and reread them with a fresh set of eyes. And he’s right. Even though things turn out okay in the end, Curious George is disobedient and doesn’t do what he’s supposed to. The man with the yellow hat condones curiosity as an acceptable reason for disobedience. And there are no consequences. Or apologies.

It took a two-year-old to point this out to me and now it bugs me too.

I liked what what one commenter said about the Curious George piece.

Good for Sean for being a critical thinker! :) I hate Curious George for the same reason. Not only is he not “beedient” — but he always gets *rewarded* for his bad behavior! And I agree with the previous comment about George being taken from the jungle. And the Man with the Yellow Hat didn’t just “find” George — he tricked him into a trap and brought him, presumably, against his will. I’m pretty sure the book says George was scared.

Get rewarded for bad behaviors? Where have I heard that before? Or the fact that a primate is just a primate and nothing more and people are making a big deal out of nothing and just want to make waves?

But one parent made a comment in Amazon about Curious George where at the end doesn't make any sense when apathy is the result.

First of all, I hate that the explorer kidnaps the monkey out of his natural habitat and puts him in a zoo ("what a nice place to live" . . . yeah, right). Second, I hate having to explain to my 2-year-old son what jail is and why Curious George was put there.

Third, I hate that Curious George always gets rewarded in some way for breaking the rules. This is a recurring "theme" in all the books, and as a parent, I disapprove. In my opinion, it's not okay to feed the ostrich after you've been told not to, and just because you subsequently rescue a baby bear does not make it okay that you broke the rule.

On the other hand, my son adores the whole series!

Well, if it's that bad just don't buy or read that book for a two year boy or girl. Don't like apathy stand in the way!

I figured that since America grew up with the Curious George book series the moral of those stories (or a serious case of lacking any moral) somehow made it into the all the little boys and girls' noggins that somehow molded them into apathetic, hypocrite liberals as we know it today.

Nah.

All this was just funny if you read it from today's, ahem, perspective. Let's hope those who are reading this blog piece won't get into an apoplectic fit and think twice before responding here. I just find certain parallels funny about Curious George today.

By the way, Michael Steele is making great headways for the GOP while as chairman for the RNC. He's something to think about for the 2012 presidential run!

Obama pushes stem cell research...hearing loss cure around the corner?

Obama is pushing for more stem cell research, especially in the field of embryonic stem cells, which means that a cure for hearing loss will be that much more closer and cochlear implant may soon quickly become a thing of the past worthy to be put into a museum.

President Barack Obama said during his campaign that overturning research limits would be a top priority in his administration.

This could potentially increase the discovery potential on finding a cure for hearing loss into the 5 to 10 year time frame. Will Gallaudet University join in on this research as well with their brand new Molecular Genetics Laboratory that opened up on February 13, 2009 to help find a cure, too? How ironic would it be for the Deaf community should this happen because of Obama's push to find cures with stem cells should a successful hearing loss cure take place during his administration? Even with the fact that the majority of the people on the campus of Gallaudet University voted for Obama?

And when that day happens I'm sure hearing parents of deaf/hh sons and daughters will rejoice over the news that (certain) hearing loss can finally be restored and no need for a cochlear implant. If Deaf people thought that cochlear implant issue was a big problem for them then they better think again in 5 to 10 years time.

Gally people...who did you vote for?

If you are a Gallaudet University student and wouldn't mind helping me out by doing a quick little survey by asking a single question to some 100 people or so (students, staff, and faculty members) on the campus of Gallaudet University on who they voted for in the 2008 election. You need to be the intrepid type and not be afraid to submit your name so I can properly credit you for your help. The more surveys, the better. Only one response per person allowed. I just need some more solid answers as you could probably guess.

And I wonder, how many Republican students do we have at Gallaudet University who are *NOT* afraid to speak up in class or anywhere on campus when it comes to conservative issues? Are you that person? Do you have the guts? Or are you a pushover for liberals?
